Zoe has very kindly gotten in touch, and the flowers in memory of Chris will be sent care of his sister. I have the address now.

His brother's girlfriend is called Rachel, and Zoe is getting further details about where in the hospital she is. Once I have this information, I will ring them to check they receive flowers. If not, Zoe has said it would be ok to send them care of Chris' sister as well.

Zoe is also finding out from his family details of a charity, but she mentioned that understandably it is difficult to get hold of his family at this time.

More tonight...

:grouphug:

I think I remember reading that she was in Wexham park. I can tell you (from 1st hand experience with Wexham Park) that flowers are not guaranteed to be delivered to the patient. I would advise against this as your kind actions may go un-noticed. Sad but true.

Just read the other thread and learned of Chris's tragic death. I hadn't met him but like many others I feel touched and choked by such an horrific accident involving people so young in a car like mine. Heartfelt best wishes to his family and close friends, and I hope Rachel makes a full and speedy recovery. It feels like only very recently that we were posting similar thoughts after Gareth's death. One of these accidents is way too many. Many thanks to YorB for sorting out the forum's response. I'll look forward to contributing on the Just Giving page.

I sent Zoe a PM yesterday ref. the nomination of a charity, but I'm sure her mind and that of Chris' family and other friends is elsewhere. It won't be forgotten...

*MEET IN WINDSOR*

Hi everyone, We will be meeting at Riverside Car park in Windsor at 8pm on Thursday 14th August, in memory of Chris. There will be a collection for a memorial plaque for him, which will be placed at Oakley Court Cemetery. Even if you only give a few pence of a few pounds it will be appreciated. Hope to see everyone there. Thanks

*FUNERAL INFO*

Hi Guys,

The funeral service will be at 2pm next Friday the 15th August. The Venue is still to be confirmed, but it will be somewhere in Windsor. We are just letting you know now so that you can all make the necessary arrangements to get time off work etc. Suzie has requested that people don't wear black, the brighter the better, as this is a celebration of Chris' life and all the happy memories we have of him. Please spread the word.

Unfortunately only very close friends and family will be able to attend the Cremation at Slough Crematorium, as it is a very small venue. This will be at 4pm and Suzie or Faye will let those people know who they are in due course.

There will then be a wake at around 5pm, which again, everyone is welcome at. At the moment it looks like it could be at Hanover Way in Dedworth, but again we'll let you know more details about this, along with the funeral Venue as soon as we can.

Thanks guys.

Stumbled apon the site by pure chance yesterday. Stopped in the hotel car park and spent some time reading the notes, cards and looking at the flowers and pictures. He was well loved. Very sad. Scott.

Hi Amy, Thanks ever so much for posting. There are so many of us on here desperate to show our respects, but who can't make it to Windsor. We would like to set up a Just Giving page, and donate to a charity close to Chris' heart. I have messaged Zoe and Nick a couple of times, but understandably everyone's attentions are diverted elsewhere. Can you help at all please Amy? Do you know where you will be donating the collection from tonight? Or are you aware of a charity Chris supported, or one that Suzy could suggest? If you can help at all, we'd be extremely grateful. I will PM this to you also. Thanks a lot Amy. We're thinking of you all. x

Just returned from holiday and have read this tragic news. I met Chris on a few occasions - I believe it is my photo of his on one of our Kent/Surrey meets at the top of this thread - and was always taken with his enthusiasm for his car. The comments made my his close friends and family are testiment to the love thay had for him - I am certain that he will remain in their memories for eternity. He came across as a happy-go-lucky guy who will be sadly missed by the VX community. My lasting memory of Chris is the big smile across his face when I gave him his London to Brighton sticker that was worded in several VX colours - he was so chuffed that I had included "his" Colmar Blue. I do so hope his passenger recovers soon. The comments made here have reduced us both to tears..... :grouphug: RIP Chris, mate. Adrian & Sue

Dear all,

Chris' family and friends have chosen Great Ormond Street Hospital as the benefactor of gifts you would like to make in memory of Chris.

Please give what you can - nothing is too small - on Chris' Just Giving page.

I think it best not to make this a sticky (unless it is advised otherwise), since people don't read them - and not everyone uses the 'View New Posts' functionality. Instead, please can you all help to keep this thread bumped and at the top of the forum.

I will also put the link on SELOC, since people there were keen to show their respects also.

Hx
