Admittedly part of that was my fault for asking for the rolling road run (I had assumed that it was a standard part of the remap, but obviously it is not - and had I known it cost £65 + VAT I would not have had it done).
Post number 85 in this thread second paragraph...

Yeah I would be interested in that, we can have a chat with Fab on Monday and then relay it to Timbo at the Windsor meet

S1 tune only to get 2 completely different figures, and then to be told it was their fault because of the way they had worn the engines in, something I was under the impression you didn't need to do any more!?!)
there is some good evidence that driving the car from new using all the rev range and at 100% for periods is beneficial to getting the combustion chambers and piston rings to properly bed in.
it was something you always noticed in the company car fleet with identical reps cars, some were much quicker.

Exactly what Audi told me to do when I collected my new car. Drive it gently for 20 minutes until it's fully up to temperature and then give it some welly through the gears, using the full rev range (where possible) and allow the turbo to cool down properly before turning off. Never stick at a certain number of revs for an extended period of time in the first few thousand miles. My car hardly uses a drop of oil as a result, whereas others I know get through a litre every couple of thousand miles (Audi engines are particularly thirsty for oil, for some reason).

if they are 08 corsa vxr's the engines are still going to be very tight anyway!
every single engine is different

its the load/lift off that does the work of bedding in

There was a problem with the Pinto engine snapping cam shafts when fitted to Sierras but never in the Transit. Turned out that the Tranny drivers start up and trash the bollocks off the engine so oil pressure was up immediately, where as the Sierras were driven "gently" by comparrisson and the pressure didnt get up and dried the cams out lol

i just dont buy that - companies spend 100's of millions developing engines, ECU's and their manufacturing process, down to tolerances of thous. And then someone just ends up with a "good'un"...?

John tells me they don't do fixed price quotes for work on VXs these days.I would always make sure I had a fixed price set in stone before I asked anyone to do any work on my car, and would ask that they contacted me should the car require any further work so I could confirm if I were happy for that to be done at an extra cost (and to give me the chance to work out if they were being realistic with their costings) If I then came back to find extra, unauthorized, additions I would argue them out.
