John tells me they don't do fixed price quotes for work on VXs these days.I would always make sure I had a fixed price set in stone before I asked anyone to do any work on my car, and would ask that they contacted me should the car require any further work so I could confirm if I were happy for that to be done at an extra cost (and to give me the chance to work out if they were being realistic with their costings) If I then came back to find extra, unauthorized, additions I would argue them out.
Did he ever? He gave me a quote in writing and then completely ignored it saying it was only a guide even though the subject was "Quote" (a bit like a builders estimate in fact).
Love the contradiction in the other thread. So typical of a small company trying to be a big player and not having any policy at all, but instead relying on saying what is assumed to be what the customer wants to hear - or whatever else suits at the time.
