Had it for 4 years mate...20 odd track days and no crashes (not in this one anyhow!)

Yeh sorry mate as i said it wasnt aimed at this accident in particular, glad your wife is ok.

i will never forget the first day i picked up my old NA years ago only 5 mins after buying it exited a roundabout in the pissing rain and got on the power a tiny bit too early and it took about 5 lock to lock corrections and a lot of luck to get it back in a straight line. It was on miss matched tyres front to back but still i learnt a lot of respect for mid engined cars that day as once they start to go they can quickly make you a passenger!

Hope no one is injured... the problem is people generally buy these cars when the weather is fine and learn the cars dry limits where you can do some really daft things and get away with it. Its a totally different ball game in the wet when a lot of new drivers need to learn that the wheel needs to be straight before you get on the power in anger.

The above is not aimed at this accident in particular but it seems to be the same coming up to winter every year.

The main thing is that all involved weren't seriously injured. Hope everything pans out OK for you.

loks liek the important part of the car stood up well. as everyone has aid cars can be replaced. i'd say that would go cat c odefinatly not a cat d due to all the suspension damage. so glad i didn't go for 888's or anything similar i wonder if insurance companies will eventually stop paying out on cars with "track" or summer tyres fitted when they crash during wet weather?

I wouldn't balme it on the 888's completely. I took it out in pouring rain the other day and loved it! I find them very progressive and predictable. The only time they become dangerous is in standing water. I had a great track day a while ago at Bedford and they perfromed brilliantly.

I would just say my wife was unlucky and perhaps didn't know how to correct the slide in time having not used on track or had that kind of experience before.

Your wife is OK. That is the only important thing. thumbsup

That lamppost took a right bash. This could have been a whole lot worse... :( but thankfully it is not.

Enjoy the replacement shed mate ;) and best wishes to your wife.
