I seem to remember the VX-S with a V6 and a disgusting interior being discussed a few years back. Never really saw the point. Might be good if the engine was a straight swap.

Will a V8 Jaguar Engine not be a tad too heavy, messing up the balance of the VX

£13K + engine and box. £20K conversion in total? Folk do pay £10K for a gutless Honda engine with 200 BHP.

longer wheel base, more power, still under a tonne, 450+/bhp per tonne, all sounding good, V8 noise. interior pictures, 18" wheels, fat as f*** rear clam, hmm :beat:

The Jag V8 is a beautifully refined unit Imnotworthy But perhaps a shade heavy for this application  Then there is the issue of the nikasil liners :beat:

Would you keep the wood floors, i dont think so they would have to go. I do think a V8 would be asking for trouble, people struggle to keep the things on the road as they are let alone with around 450BHP! Would be fun round the track though :groupjump:

Probably less fun than the standard car - unless of course you want to become a drifter.. I'm guessing that by extending the wheel base by 17cm that it'll probably lose some of the pointability of the regular car. Definitely more of a GT (although without the comfort of a true GT).

no idea, i just imagine all things rover to be a bit on the heavy side TBH. Plus you would never fit the 5ltr griff engine in a vx without some serious effort

The concept is quite interesting but visiting their website, I'm not sure what the handling of the car is like, certainly extending the wheelbase is a potential disaster without significantly widening the track. A V8 sounds too extreme, but a V6 would have merit albeit kept within the current proportions of the original car. I'll keep to my Z20LEH and Garrett G28 at 1.6 psi boost thanks  and just cut more holes in the rear bodywork. Cheers Ian

Something like the RSTv8 would be better, or the engine from the Radical SR8? Although I guess if you want that, you could just buy a radical, and if you want a plastic sports car with a V8 there are tonnes of used TVR's out there, so seems a bit pointless to me. Good that people are still doing this kind of thing though "just to see if they could". It's how the best things start!
