Driving a Robin with a V12 now that would be sport  can you imagine the gentle rocking from side to side as you blip the throttle at the traffic lights and pull away relying on youre wheelie bar to stop you flipping over  Cheers Ian

I inquired about just having the Audi v6 put in and not the rest of the mods, internal looks the pits IMHO, but gave up in the end after 10 months of be told it is being sorted and only a few more bits to be finalised.

Something like the RSTv8 would be better, or the engine from the Radical SR8?

Cheers
Ian

In the Caterham RST V8 it weighs in at 340bhp @10,250rpm but only 190lb/ft torque delivered at 7,000-7,800rpm. It only measures 19"x19"x19". Somehow think it would be a little hard to live with on the road as it's hardly effortless power. :(

The lastest super-charged versions which we have been working on in the Caterham and the Ariel Atom are 550bhp with the cars weighing ~550kg.

I went out in the Caterham a couple of weeks back and it was absolutely mental. thumbsup

I have to say I like what they've done with the rear arch air intake, far better than the stuck on/aftermarket VXT effort.

Lotus have an Elise V6 in concept, they even have a '118' type of number for it. But as far as I know it's just an idea..... I am sure Winstar will know..... (I had a robin with a transit van engine, 2.0 pinto, even that was a death trap) Lotus M250. 2 seater concept car. Unveiled in Autumn of 1999 as a mid-range sports car, featuring a V6 24 valve engine, producing 250bhp. The chassis was an aluminium extrusion bonded modular monocoque. Lotus confirmed the car would go into production and deposits from Customers were taken, however on May 9th, 2001 the project was cancelled.
