How can I upload an avatar?
Click on 'My Controls':
Then click on 'Edit Avatar Settings':
How can I add a signature to my posts and messages?
Click on 'Edit Signature', which is above 'Edit Avatar Settings'.
How can I add a location to my avatar?Click on 'Edit Profile Information', which is two above 'Edit Signature'. It is a good idea to add your location, so that members can see where you based eg in order to recommend a garage close to you.
How can I manage my profile page?If you are logged in to the forum, click on your user name in the top left-hand corner of the forum, and you are taken to your profile page.
Most page maintenance – including uploading an image to your page (which is a different entity to your avatar) – can be done on the ‘Settings’ tab.
Each member is allocated only a certain amount of space to use to upload attachments to the site.
The best option therefore is to use a hosting site (eg Photobucket, ImageShack), and then link to your image in your post. Guides to the latter can be found here and here.
Posts are editable for a defined period only.
Why are people shouting at me?Most probably because you didn’t search before posting your question.
Whilst clearly the forum shouldn’t turn into just a search engine, and posting isn’t discouraged, you may find people more eager to help you if you have shown some willing to help yourself. Also, if a question has been asked several times before, and you post it again, you may find people less willing to repeat the information – so you may not receive a full answer.
The search function isn’t perfect – but can work very well if you use it to its full potential, and have some patience. Quick search is accessed by clicking on 'Search' in the top right-hand corner of the forum, which brings up a box to type search criteria into.
A more advanced search function can be accessed by clicking on the 'More Search Options' link under the box. Here, you can narrow your search.
I changed my registered email address, and now I can’t log in
Follow the instructions on the page where you amended your registered email address (My Controls | Change Email Address). You will need to reactivate your account – an email will be sent to your new address explaining how to do this.
If you do not reactivate your account in this way, you will not be able to log in.

I have a problemIf you have a concern about a particular post, eg you find it offensive, click on the ‘Report’ button against it to report it to a mod.
If you have a more general concern/question/comment – you can send a mod a PM (Personal Message) via the forum’s messaging system.
