Going to change the brake fluid for some Super Blue ATE, as it seems to be well liked on here (I do mostly road driving but will do a couple of trackdays next year). Question is, how much does the VX need? I did a search but nothing showed up. Will a litre be enough?

1.5 litres will be enough ;) I got this but pumped out loads after caliper changes and still have some left. Prob get away with 1 litre if its just a change

I got away with less than 1L on a fluid change... If the fluid in there is of duibious nature then I'd get a load of cheap DOT4 from a motorfactors, flush that through a lot then push the ATE through the "clean" system.

Cool - no idea what is in there or for how long. Might go with the cheap 'flush' suggestion thumbsup

OMG! Just looked at the bill for the last service (Dec 2007) to see if the brake fluid was changed then and noticed the following;

Remove front wheel, disconnect brake calipers, ensure free movement of caliper pistons. Clean brake disc faces, fit new brake pads, re-assemble & road test.

Item - 1 set brake pad.

Price Incl. VAT £291.40

and then

Replace rear brake pads.

Item - 1 set brake pad.

Price Incl VAT £268.49

Clucking bells! Glad it was the previous owner that paid for that and not me!!

Quite.

And then there was the service and MOT on top of that!

I used just under a 1 litre tin of ATE for brakes/clutch. Had another standing by which is still sealed and will be used soon.

Anyone know the best place to get Super Blue? Cheapest I can find is £20 a litre plus postage. Anywhere better than that that Google doesn't show?

I was ordering a load of oil from Opie Oils and they didn't stock it, so thry did me a deal on a couple of litres of Motul DOT4 stuff instead. Just couldn't be arsed to do two seperate orders (although it looks very good at that price).
