I am right in saying the standard rods are 143.1mm centre to centre , to give 8.8-1 compression in standard fit

To get more safe rpm , I am going to change the weak pistons, then I might as well review compression and put a shallower piston on , and rebore it to 87mm

these are 143 spec , 545g

crank, I want to stay with 86mm stroke, but am still compiling details about the OE one

money no object I would go for something like this, Ultra light weight crank shaft 2.0L XE 16V, narrow big end journals, 12.7kg

Your probably not going to like me saying this but if I was going for the levels of power where you need to change the interanls I'd sell the turbo buy a NA then start from there. The ecotec family of engines have loads of high spec parts availble in the US and loads of info on how to get big power plus you get rid of the pig iron block. The only advantage the Z20let has is that the ECU is easily changed but cable throttle and a standalone would solve that problem.

Keeping my eyes peeled for something, but want to keep the stroke around 86mm

Just checked the regs and must retain original engine, ie. an NA must stay an NA , an exhaust gas FI must remain same. Shame as a S/C would fit in well.

What's that for?

You can get the shorter stroke and also stronger internals from the 2L LSJ or SAAB turbo Engine.

I'd say goto migweb or vauxsport and contact a chap called steveboyslim... what he dosent know about the limits of GM LET based engines isnt worth knowing could save some lardy assed weight with a £4K alloy block for the XE/LET engine lol
