No idea, I'll ask but it might be that ours is GM specific.

Just got this from a 'friend' who knows....

All Elise from 2001-> uses the same structure
The very first part number the S2 Rover was issued with was C116B0225K and as you know anything with ‘116’
means it’s fitted on VX, however Lotus replaced part number to A120B0094J back in 2005 and then to A120B0190J in 2006 and all was hunky-dory .........
HOWEVER!! The ‘A’ level was superseded to the ‘B’ level in Jan 2012 and the ‘B’ level is 7.5my Elise so uses a different
tow post, so when you change the structure you use a later tow post.
It will fit BUT and it’s a BIG but, as Lotus superseded the part it was also strengthened , it’s much stronger than the VX so it will effect the air bag set up. No one at Lotus can say what would happen if you fit one to a VX.

That's good to know.

To clarify (and you might not have the answer to this) the S2 elise uses the revised tow post but not upgraded to the B level until 2012, so there are infact three different types of crash box:

1. S1/VX220 -entirely interchangeable
2. S2 to 2011 - interchangeable with tow post change
3. Elise 2012 on - stronger, different tow post and potential airbag issues.

FYI. Junks has just confirmed to me he thinks the exige/elise S2 and VX crashboxes are interchangeable.

good point, reviewing it again it should be S1 - not interchangeable, S2 K series entirely interchangeable.

Thinking in buying the elise s2 crashbox, the problem is it is more strenght, and told me may cause some problems with the airbag system in vx220. What do you guys think about it? (this crashbox theme is making me crazy...)

I wouldn't worry about it. You have to drive the VX over the side of a cliff to activate the airbags anyway, as they're so badly calibrated.
