Has anything happened with this yet? I'd still like to get rid of those silly yellow plastic things.

I had a slight go at polishing the head (now now, calm down, read the next bit) on mine yesterday. Took some wire wool to it. It's brightened it up a bit, and with some serious work (I got bored after 5 mins), I think it could polish up nicely. Will fit in with the nice Alloy caps that we're all waiting for ... B)

You could try some engine cleaner and detailer. First spray can takes all the gunk off, the second cleans up the hoses.

Taking off the Ecotec badge improves things I think. I replaced it with the 220 part of a rear VX220 badge. Looks a lot better imo. Caps are done with Lexan paint for RC models that becomes part of the plastic so doesn't scratch off, £2.50 a can.

Been over a month since anything's been said about this. Has it just died? I see Miltek do a set for VW's, are they making some for us or are they coming from somewhere else?

Vauxhall have just fitted a mod to our engine bay. Its a shield that goes over the top of the engine to stop water getting at the electronics, so now you can see nothig hardly through the grilles. Saved us spending out though!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My company has just moved offices and we're now directly overlooking the carpark. This means that I can sit at my desk on the first floor, turn my head 60degrees to the right , and see my car. Hooray! :jump: nice warm feeling. It also means that if I choose to do so, I can park directly underneath my window, so I can get a top-down view (which, IMO, is one of the best ways to see a VX). If this is something I wish to share with my colleagues, however, I NEED to sort out the view into the engine bay. Ali caps? Yes please...

My engine is looking a little grotty, and my ecotech badge seems to be stained yellow along one edge. I've tried gunk to clean it up a bit but it didn't seem to help with either. Is the only solution a damn hard scrubbing with wire wool? Also, does anyone know where I could get a new ecotech badge from, in case I can't bring myself to get rid completely. Ta

Thorney, any progress on these. Did you reject the 50 you ordered in April or are they available to buy ? Cannot see them in the shop.

I got all the first ones but because they are OEM caps with replacement tops the cost rocketed  Sorted a better supplier of OEM caps now so almost there. PITA isn't it
