Had a play with some of the left over fibreglass today

I'm going to make a smaller parcel shelf box to house 2 6"x9" speakers and see how much bass they deliver (which can be tailered on the amp)

Just trying to get some info for sealed enclosure sizing from the speaker manufacturers; they don't seem to want to play ball tho

Just had a long day at Guglielmi Motorsport The car feels completely different! Fully set the geo with a nice bit of camber, and reset the toe on the front, it was running far too much Also had an oil service and spark plugs changed thumbsup

Decided to have a go at porting my spare throttle body today :)

Thought I'd countersink and tap the holes first, as if that went wrong a few hours polishing would have been wasted :)

Posted Image

Posted Image

Just used a standard M4, 0.7 pitch tap

Unfortunately, I'd ordered the countersunk screws but gone for M4x6 as per the guide on Z22SE; but the sellers on ebay advertise length as complete length, not just threaded length, so I've had to order the M4x10 version instead

Taking out one of the many ridges; using a Dremel and the fine larger size drum sanding barrels

A little more

And all the Dremel work done, taking care not to take alloy away from where the butterfly rests against the housing to try and prevent a 2000rpm idle :D

Sanded with 240, then 480 grit wet and dry

Posted Image

Then polished using some cheap miniature 'hobbyist' polishing mops from ebay, and a cutting and polishing bar

Posted Image

And all done, bar the screws which I will Loctite in place once they arrive :)

I'm dubious

But I needed something to practice on before starting on the spare head (which will have loads of material removed from the exhaust side)

ah porting the head, something i wanted to do in the near future - you'll have to let us know how you do with that and whether you notice any difference!

The 'mild' head porting will be combined with oversize valves, double valve springs, 4-1 manifold and a set of cams, so it may be hard to judge the difference  :)

looks good buddy, definately shiny! when i fitted my ported head and cams i definately noticed and has some good gains once 2.4 and 4-1 was fitted thumbsup i think you need to do a step by step guide of porting a head... now that would be useful!

Massive thanks to Vocky Imnotworthy for removing the valves from my head (a standard spring compressor won't fit ) And for the mini lesson in porting - much appreciated thumbsup :)

I've fitted the TB and done a few hundred miles WOW it really makes a difference to the response And as an added bonus I still have a nice steady idle of 800rpm :)

If you have changed the TB on a DBW car then you have to reset the ECU and let it do an adaptation (ignition on for 30 seconds without touching pedal, or longer if throttle plate still thwacking back and forth).

You can end up in a very soft limp mode otherwise. No EML, but car not quite right.
