I actually gave it a light coat of paint over the top of the anodising, the one I painted for the first car chipped on the corners slightly, but if it does it this time the black underneath will show through :)

Nah, not saying that; but it may be worth waiting a couple of weeks so I can see how this one stands up - I baked the paint this time too thumbsup :)

I have a VSE yep, but Ad's has the Regal which just sounds great, better than the VSE i think.

Yeah, it sounds fantastic but is incredibly loud! I followed him at low speed with my VSE inaudible because of his Regal!

I think it will need stitching, unless you think otherwise

Yes, think it will. Certainly will need to be done in panels. It may be possible to glue fabric to console and marry pattern up but probably best stitched. I have not experimented yet so we shall see.........

I wrapped leatherette cloth around the centre console of mine and glued it down. It worked fine but, of course, there's no print like carbon fibre to align:

What did you use to glue it with - I'm worried it will lift away over time

I did it two years ago and it's still holding firm to door cards, door handle guards, dash and centre console. The gluing was a sod. I used araldite, smeared everywhere, and a hot glue gun for getting those awkard turns and folds to grip. If I did it again, and I'm considering redoing the door cards and dash, I'm going to use some sort of finer spray on glue because araldite is tough to smooth down without leaving the odd lump or bump. I'm really impressed by your project, by the way, I'll get around to doing my leaky headlights one day! thumbsup

Adam, I have started on my dash plates. I have used 3M Craft Mount Permanent Adhesive spray. It is very good. Fine spray, no lumps or bobbly bits and sticks well. Spray, wait 20 seconds or so and adhesion is good. Not too easy to reposition though  . I will post up some phoos in a new thread when I get a moment.

Thought I'd have a look at what will be involved in fitting the new exhaust today :)

This is what was left of the small hanger bracket - new one on order

Posted Image

Well at least this one actually resembles a bolt of some form

Posted Image

Unlike the others

Posted Image

Posted Image

Had to cut the heads off

Posted Image

And then drill them / knock them through

Posted Image

And finished at last

Posted Image

Thankfully the bolts at the manifold join don't look anywhere near as bad!

That's what mine looks like. Good to know it cleans up that well! thumbsup I hadn't looked at it closely, but from a distance it looks like it would fall apart at the sound of power tools.
