so the piper cat will replace as std one?
and i can keep the vse

Yep, you can bolt any backbox to it - tests on Chris's car showed that the cat section mated to a VSE was the best performing combo

But it will be UBER LOUD!!!

nice job mate and hopfully stop them ice creams melting in the boot now lol , and the exhaust with the black tip will look class when its all sorted.

Yep, will be nice to be able to put shopping in there :D The exhaust tips are the last step toward stealthness :)

Amazing job with your project - just spent quite some time reading through your progress over recent months...! Just out of interest, how do the 6 x 9's sound compared to the 10" sub you had previously? Obviously less bass-heavy but more punchy? Which ones did you plump for in the end? Cheers Ben

They're Vibe Slick 692 - decided to let my ears make up my mind in the end and went to have a listen to a load (they weren't all that expensive either which is a bonus :))

They are punchier than the sub, but quite different, they'd prob be best used as a second set of head unit or amp driven speakers instead of a subwoofer, hence I'll be swapping back to the sub when I put the car back together :)

And the carbon centre console (turned out to be more of a PITA than expected ) together with a new gearknob and handbrake handle :)

Bit of a power bump, but was just looking through..what did you use to clean the floors? The stains on mine seem very stubborn!

I used cillit bang  works really well - you need to make sure you rinse it off properly tho, so can only really be done when all of the interior is stripped out!

Just with lots of water and mop it all up :) really need to update this thread, I've now had harness holes cut in the seats and got the Piper fitted (which sounds amazing!) but can't get the pics off the camera

Nope, not yet :( Plan to fit it along with the Eagle rods I don't really want to do the pistons as I don't want to remove the block and send it away or have any desire to go >300bhp, but do I need to fit new piston rings to the existing pistons when I remove them to change the rods

I will be doing the same next winter fitting ported head and rods. But I will be taking the engine out as new piston rings will require a de-glaze as a minimum. And while it is all out I will remove the balance shafts and get the rods, pistons, crank and flywheel/clutch balanced. Why is it that one thing always leads to another. I just think that while I have got the engine out I might as well get every thing done. Cheers Oakmere

A couple of pics :)

I didn't take any whilst putting the car back together due to the negative temperatures outside!

Had harness slots cut in the seats and the drivers seat bolsters replaced, so I can finally fit the harnesses that have been sat around doing nothing for 18 months :D

They added a zipped section so not to stretch the material too much :)
