Including the manifold - tho that was the group buy price, not sure it's valid any more

Light restoration - part 1

Both headlights were leaking quite badly (with cobwebs inside, so I new it was severe!)

Posted Image

Posted Image

And here is the cause - completely failed seal (and yes, that is the upper edge )

Posted Image

So used a heat gun to soften the sealant a little and a pearing knife to lever the cover away

Posted Image

The OEM sealant really isn't very strong, hence the stuff left over very easily peeled off

Posted Image

Leaving some very mouldy lights behind

Posted Image

Posted Image

Just need to spraqy the things black and tigerseal them back together now :)

I knew there were issues with the paintwork when I picked it up, and had resigned myself to some serious work with an orbital polisher, but thought I'd have a play today on a small section to see what I could manage by hand - mainly to give an idea of how much work will be required after the Meguiares day next weekend

A before shot - pretty bad, very hazed

Posted Image

And a couple of after shots - I'm pretty amazed how much it managed to remove, all but the deeper scrathes have gone, and even the ones remaining have been disguised somewhat thumbsup

Posted Image

Posted Image

The process I used was:

Full wash with Autoglym shampoo
Tesco Coulour Restorer (worked really well, wasn't expecting that, not too abraisive either)
Autoglym Super Resin Polish (x2 applications)
Autoglym Ultra Deep Shine
Collinite 476 wax

My arm now hurts tho, and I have 9/10ths left to do :beat:
