Fitted all the lights back in today, also went for some ugraded bulbs

Got the same sidelights as the last VX as they proved to be reliable

Linky to Ebay :)

And a slim ballast HID kit - From this seller thumbsup - the ballasts that were supplied are actually smaller than those in the pic!

And the overall effect - much better B)

Not much, the ballast/cabling is prob only 50g (ish) and can be fixed low down in the nose of the car

PS for anyone looking to get a set, I know the pic shows a H7 bulb, but that's a stock pic from ebay - for dipped beam you need to ask for a H1 thumbsup

Spot the difference!

The spoiler that was fitted (shown at the top of the pics) was one of the £79 ebay jobs - it had only been on for a couple of months and came down with the dreaded bubbling - presumably not baked correctly during production

So got an OEM version and these guys sprayed it up for me - top job thumbsup

this bubbling is micro blistering, wouldn't say its down to the production of the spoiler but infact the painting of the spoiler. micro blistering is where water (condensation) mixes in with the paint when spraying, and eventually the water wants to escape causing it to pull through the paint work - bubble blisters.

This explanation is all well & good, but can you explain the funky ass carpet? :poke:

I'd assumed it was the fibreglass, as there is a little 'pit' of fibreglass missing underneath each bubble

maybe be hard to believe in a funny way, but that is exactly what they do "pop". any sprayer would know about micro blisters. :)

Just read that about the spoiler and how lucky i was to have decided to purchase on of the £79.00 ones off ebay last year and spray it white. Any blisters wouldn't have been noticable. But my car is currently in the garage with all white bits (except wheels ) about to be sprayed blue. Hope i don't get the same issue.

A little more progress :)

Got a new roof seal from Bell & Colvill, a very handy mail order service thumbsup; mine had failed dramatically at the top corners:

Posted Image

Also got a new S2 wiper arm, as mione had started to rust, it was about £20 including a new blade (much better than the £40 Vaux want just for the blade)

Posted Image

All you need to do to change it is to remove the plastic guard and undo the nut holding it in position, then lever the arm off the plined shaft.

Posted Image

For the replacement just tighten the bolt down to drive the new arm onto the splines :)
