Last year i was at croft and was following a Radical, was doing impressively well considering he was a pro driver, on slicks but i missed my braking point by about 1/2 a seconds if that, at 130mph thats quite a distance.

Considering he was a pro I'm quite impressed that he managed to miss both the entry and apex of Clervaux, I'm guessing he's not that good a pro :)

Rule number 1 of trackdays, don't chase Radicals.

Think you would be better suited to a front wheel drive car with maybe 100 bhp as this must be to quick for you. I reckon your car is a cat B now

Yup I think you should reshell it with some Exige clams Chris  Seriously though glad you are ok and car survived without major damage
I wouldnt go ruining a vx220 like that.

With the greatest respect a decent driver in that car would leave your car for dead. It looks like a Radical pro sport, if you were able to match Mikes fastest lap in time attack 2wd pro class it would still be over 7 seconds slower that what that Rad is capable of.

If he was 7 seconds or more off the pace I deduce he was garbage

Fair enough, Prosports are around 200bhp but are quite light (circa 400kg IIRC)

I was lucky to get them, i just got first dibs from a forum member. You might struggle to get vxr seats but you could quite easily get similar from dave the trimmer.

It's welded on, I'm sure Techie told me to man up and just pull, it won't budge. Had to spray mine in situ.

Aluminium and fiberglass are renowned for welding tougher lol! It's got a cork backing, man up and give it a shove or get something behind it!

Put 2 bolts in a piece of metal so they fit down the holes then just twist and it should pop off.

Is it just the photo or is the front clam a bit orange? I know red and yellow are a right pita to colour match. Have the doors been blown in?

No. They didnt get blown in. I had to get it matched close i could.. Spray job only cost me £20 so i cant complain. I think once ive polished up the rest of the car it shouldnt show quite as much. Did you get to the bottom of your problem btw?

thumbsup Looks nice and shiny!

Hope so. I found the ecu power cable chafed through next to the subframe where the loom goes through the clam in the wheel arch. I checked around there twice at Croft and couldn't find anything  but at home with a torch a found it very quickly. I drove out of the circuit and then drove Mikes car all the way home. Ive done a couple of 100 miles since without fault but guess ill only be really confident its fixed if it makes it to Zandvoort and back this week, fingers crossed!
