the baffle, we wanted to make a baffle which would give us the most accurate reading.

this was the first design, but after testing we found that it was too small and it had too many holes..

Posted Image

so i re-designed it completely and ended up with this.

little update for those still reading.

Tank is almost finished, it holds 5.5L of water, not including the pipework etc which we think will add at least another litre.

started off by making the surge pot where the outlet pipe is for the pump.

inner bead, these are so hard to do for me, the base is 1.2mm and the edge was 0.7 so it just eats right through.. managed to get a really nice bead going here for a little bit..

Posted Image

filled with water and hey presto.. no leaks.. :o

Posted Image

started with the lid then,

this is going to be the filler neck which is welded to the inside of the lid

made some heat sinks out of ali..

unfortunately i didn't get any of the finished ones as it was late and we turned in for the night, in the morning we tacked it up and realised, so its staying on.

Looks well chris but i Do have a question Is that float switch in the baffled area ? If so surely it would be better to have the water outlet for pump in the baffled bit rather than the float as you would want the float switch to operate before the water runs out

Underneath the baffle there are holes which run straight into the surge pot, these allow the water to run out fast enough that the baffle will never be ful and the surge pot close to empty

might be worth putting some holes in the baffle plate lower down to make sure the water dosent run out of the float section and a lot of water still in the main section of the tank

or maybe even a hole on the bit with a slant

The level float is in the main tank, but it is baffled just to try stop it activating it when its under G.. under that is the smaller compartment which is just a bit bigger than the filter for the main feed.. on fully empty there would be less than 10mm in the tank so waste is at a very minimum.

Work is really progressing on mine now! I managed to get more done last night than i have in 3 months!! I fit my new 6pk1290 belt and i bolted in my caliper brackets after alighning them correctly... but left the 1/2 to 3/8 adaptor at work so i did everything up hand tight and finished for the night proud of the acomplishments i had made.

what has made it heavier?

i assume you mean from a standard car.?

coupe and hardtop weight 30kg.

supercharger and front mounted charge cooler must be nearly 20kg

the wheels i am using are really heavy, much more so than standard

spoiler, diffuser, front splitter  they will weight about 10kg if not more, combined.
