Have just got the pics of my new 3" Chris Tullett exhaust system. :groupjump:

Exact equal length primaries and 100 cell cat.

Pricing is competitive, made entirely from 304 grade stainless steel, track friendly, lighter than the Piper systems and lifetime warrantied regardless of owner.

A group buy will be the first port of call :)

There is also a 2.5" system which I will post pics of tomorrow. Importantly there is also a full equal length manifold, similar to the £977 TMS one but a better design and a LOT cheaper.

If anyone wants a 2.25" bore then this can also be catered for. There is an option on all systems to have them fully repackable too.

There will be a turbo system to follow very shortly I imagine, I will know for sure tomorrow.

Hey, finally something similar to 2bular in terms of quality Very very nice ! Any idea if a 4/2/1 manifold is planned ?

I'd say it's better having seen both up close. No plans for the 4/2/1 just yet but as they have the jigs I assume it would be possible.

I like the look of that, how much for all that in the pic? How or why would you choose between 2.25 / 2.5 / 3" system? My exhaust is now about eight years old, rusted to death but still no holes, kind of makes my previous cars high maintenance changing exhaust parts every couple of years.

I don't know the measurement but Chris said the actual size is not THAT important, it's very similar to the silencer they use for the 300+bhp supercharged Honda conversions on the Elise which are comfortably track friendly.

It depends on power levels.

2.25" is ideal for standard-ish cars, 2.5" better for more highly tuned cars and 3" only for supercharged cars.

£1383 incl. Vat for what's above, subject to any group buys or whatever.

NEWS!!! At a recent track day at Donington, with a drive-by noise limit of 98db, our Honda engined car fitted with this exhaust system was clocking only 88db. A whole 10db under the prescribed limit, with a completely non-restrictive exhaust!!

Yeah.

Interestingly their cat sections are very reasonable, they couldn't understand why all the other options there were so expensive, their bolt on 2.5" manifold will be more expensive than the Piper one but a fraction of the price of the TMS one (which Chris made but didn't design) but won't get anywhere near as close to the boot, there's at least 25mm of clearance.

Paul, The system looks great! But, as Joe mentioned I think you may also have problems with noise at some tracks with the specification of your car. Oddly enough, drive by's seem fine, but static tests are borderline & your exhaust has to be running for a while & hot before any static test to allow the collector & other joints time to expand & fit tightly. Also, the 2ubular 3" system is not too different in cost...Can he do a repackable silencer, but using a thin gauge s/steel? The silencer wadding breaks down if the quaity of the material & the packing of the silencer is not done properley. Have you tried actually fitting it into a VX as yet? Cheers Max

Chris has been aware of the noise issues from the start and is still confident of it being ok. Max unlike the 2bular this was developed on my car, chris had it for 3 weeks and I'm now on the train to collect it. The 2bular still may have unresolved issues, at one point nicks couldn't be fitted with the engine in the car! I tried to order a 2bular but after 3 months I still couldn't get a price or an estimate of when one would be ready, I tried to give jim money but it just wouldn't work! I don't think I'd have actually got a system this year unless I went elsewhere!

Yea the manifold was tight, I ended up removing a small section of boot. Just to be certain that it was clear. I know Jim is working on changing the pipe layout.

Yeah he said he was but doing that when you don't have a car there is going to be slow and fraught with difficulties.
