It's not though is it. It was obvious a while back what the game was, and it has finally been elucidated above ie that whilst people wait and hope for this bargain to come off, business isn't being put Tullett's (or anyone else's) way. How long is too long to wait? Is anyone going to risk dropping of the list, and potentially missing out on a bargain?

Either the items won't manifoldfest themselves, or Thorney will find someone to manufacture them for less than £200 (don't forget, you don't have a spec for it; it could be utter rubbish) - I have no idea what the production cost of a manifold is. No sensible business man worth his salt would even propose to take a financial hit that substantial, without knowing exactly what they were doing.

I think anyone with any sense who wanted a manifold will have bought one from Chris already.

The production cost of a manifold like that is expensive, it can't be automated and making a whole batch of them takes barely any less time per unit than doing one of them. Hence why it cost £750+VAT to produce them first time around.

Sensible option Joe. Like I said though - wonder how long others will wait, or if they will even risk missing out. It's that human nature thing of how long do you wait at a bus stop, because as soon as you decide to start walking one drives right past you...

I have my Piper fitted already. I think JT has more to worry about than manifolds.

Ok, it's cheap (if it happens).. but £200 is still a lot if it's going to add f**k all to power/driveability/enjoyment..?

as the standard z22se exhaust manifold is so restrictive a 4-1 tubular manifold will show bhp gains, even on a standard engine.

generally 5-10 bhp can be expected thumbsup

Those of us that have been around here a while have seen this approach from TMS before from the long awited 3" VXT miltek to the rumored TMS supercharger conversion. Will these products ever materialise? or are they just put out there to stop people spending there money elsewhere.

On the manifold front I do know production costs and the number of segments of pipe and associated welding means it would take alot of labour I'd estimate a least day (8 hours) to produce each one even with a jig. Take away the material costs (assuming the bends are all 1.5D or above) and you'd need to find someone to do the welding for about £15/hour to break even. I doubt you'd find a skilled welder for even twice that.

So put you name down if you want but don't let it stop you buying somhing else in the meantime.

Or for an extra £88 you could get a full equal length one from Chris Tullett. One that actually has some proper clearance from the boot and is lighter. (Referring to the TMS one rather than the Piper one).

Both are good options depending upon what you want.

Sorry Garry. Will try and do that tomorrow now the new engine has got a few miles on it - certainly enough to venture up to realms of 5000rpm briefly. :)
