Jon and Mark at Courtenays seemed pretty impressed with my 3" system, they said it didn't seem all that loud really which is good, need to ask them for their dB readings though.

all dead on this? :(

Nope, Chris is still selling exhausts and getting good feedback :)

Say that to my Dremel / flange :groupjump:

Just joking, quality is superb, but my hands/tools/workshop/Dremel still remember the little flange issue :tumble:

Jon at Courtenays tested it while it was there recently, their impression was that it wasn't very loud really. He's got the figures written down somewhere and I'll post them when he gets back to me.

Mine certainly has got louder. I'm 1000 miles or more in now. Nice deep note now So nice in fact, I'm off to London shortly to see what the tunnels are like

Heard a 2.5" repackable one yesterday, not sure what the length was.... certainly a fair bit louder than my 2bular Honestly my 2bular is really not loud, with low loads it is almost the same sound level as the stock exhaust, and far from a loud Larini or Komo or VSE at load, but I fear it could be already too much for certain tracks, so I'm considering extending it (from its 7x24") by myself to something close to Chris ones. but well, keep in mind, CT ones are cheaper, easier to get and have good manifold options.... always compromises

Jon also said that our one on Matts car (Techiboy) was nice a quiet. But a test at Bedford showed 101.5DB so its well worth getting it tested to be 100% sure :)

I'll have a sound meter at the national so should be able to get a good comparison at the same conditions.

We tested a few cars with the sound meter, the one thing i noticed was that with the supercharged cars there was a pronounced spike in the reading when lifting off Piper 2.5" - steady 90 db, going to 100 on lift off (wind blowing away from meter) Tullet 2.5" - steady 92 db, 101 on lift off (wind blowing towards from meter) N17VES- low cam 94db, high cam 101db DucanVXR - 94db

Nope it was my 2.5" system.

Readings taken @4500rpm static but it was a windy day so don't know if that would have any effect
