You may notice that it is facing the other way now. This was all under its own power. In other news the fibreglass repair is done on the rear clam and both clams should be painted and ready next week.

No, it just has too much camber so the outermost tread block has not picked up dust.

Thanks for the sentiment guys! chinky chinky

First painted bits on! Both fibreglass sills were splodged on today. Huge thanks to Vocky again. We took our time and got them both on in one go. Imnotworthy We also got the brakes bled and routed all of the wiring around the radiator support. thumbsup It now looks like a car sans clams, and those will be back this week so it could really look like a car soon! Surprisingly little left to do, but still plenty of course. I really need to deal with the VIN soon or it will be all done except for the paperwork.

Steve.

Cheers Steve! That means a lot to me. I was never sure how many people actually read this regularly. It is more of a blog than a normal thread. I have had a lot of help on the project but this blog has also helped me feel like I wasn't doing it all alone. Word to the wise, don't come home from working on the project car and immediately go to update your blog! ;) :D

I feel the same way about it being over. It is coming together so fast now that I am worried that it will be done before I know what happened!

have you checked the hardtop fit before you did the rollbar diagonals, isn't there some tolerance?

the trick with the diagonals is to have the car on it's wheels (so that the weight of the engine and box can flex the chassis) before tightening them thumbsup the hard top fitted perfect chinky chinky

Pics require a congruence of the right computer, cable, and Jesus phone to upload! I could probably upload them directly from the Jesus phone if I knew what I was doing. Vocky, I hope that we didn't splodge up the hole where the antenna wire goes!

OK, after some faffing around I got the right fuel filter and that is in. The airbox is in too, and I have cleaned up the threads on the sills and clams from painting. I also found some bolts for the top of the EP front tow eye bracket since it uses the 2 side ones instead of the one middle one. Had to open up the holes slightly but now that is on securely. (The threads for the front tow eye had rusted away completely on the original item.) The car left the building for the first time in over a year today! I drove it out to rinse off the fuel spill from changing the filter. Brakes are still soft, but work for now. No caster shims so the upper wishbone clanks when you use the brakes. I also ordered tires from Camskill today. Will get those mounted next week. Hopefully next week/weekend I can sort the coilovers, shims, tighten the wishbone bushes, and put the new wheels on all in one go. (I would leave the wheels for a bit longer but best to set the ride height with the right wheels.)
