I plan to do that a few times this year, but major PITA to get a trailer and a tow vehicle. If I had reasonable access to a trailer then I would put a towbar on the mafiamobile. However, a trailer is too expensive and I really only intend to do it this year.

Given how light it is, can't you A-frame it?

Would have to be road legal to A-frame it, and then there isn't anywhere on a VX to attach an A-frame anyway.

I am making progress on access to a trailer. thumbsup

Drank tea, ate bacon butties, and went ooh-err that will never fit - on Duncan's Locost departure from reality. Relevant to this project, because I snuck into the back of the workshop and fabbed up an alloy patch for where the bonnet pin tore out. Plan to install tomorrow evening and bring the car home. One cheap stick on rearview mirror to go and it is roadworthy if not road legal . . . in other words ready to thrash around Bruntingthorpe. :P

Thanks for the encouragement, parts, cajoling, and implications of physical harm at the Beds meet! I am looking into insurance still and that is the main hurdle at this point.

I even have a picture of you doing work sir - a VERY rare thing :D

And it did fit in the end :P - just no room for the turbo atm and you wont speak to me if I cut that chassis rail out LOL - tonight is D day top mount manifold ftw (fear turbo will be outside the bonnet :D lol

Have to say the bacon buttie run was class! followed by snicker and cola :P:P:P workers lunch :D

Other than you and Dave peeing on my chips about cutting the chassis to bits and putting the fear of god into me about front impact crush structure etc etc you did actually manage to steal some metal and make something that looked spot on ;)

As per our chat today def coming out for a day Brunters to finish the mapping in the future and of course you can still use the trailer and barge to tow it while I still have it all

Minor update, major milestone. Thanks to taking a day off work last week I had 10 minutes to install the bonnet pin that Cliffie so kindly gave me, which means that the car is now mechanically capable of doing high speeds (without the bonnet lifting up)! That's a first! Plans to take it to Bruntingthorpe for a thrash are generally stuck on the issue of locating a trailer and a tow vehicle at the same time. Can seem to find one or the other but not both.

Poop, this is the problem with track only vehicles, they are just too impractical unless you are a millionaire :(

Paperwork in the narrow zone of legal to own but not legal to register. So, 2 kinds of legal.

Wouldn't even let me make an appointment.

Maybe 'register' it in Hungary or somesuch liberal country and then transfer to here - perhaps that's a 'sneaky' way to get around the paperwork ?!

I can actually register it for my own use, but it won't pass VIC so I can't sell it registered. Insurance has gone up to £2,000 a year, so can't be a£"ed to register it for my own use.

I have given you a viable option on how to resolve this problem. Looks to me that you no longer want to do it
