far too good to break, but then it's far to good for a track slag

Vocky, I know how you feel! However, it doesn't break a sweat on track. It really could be tracked all day every day and not feel abused.

Such a great read. Such a shame that there are issues potentially with it as stated above. As a track car I bet it is superb

Am I right in thinking (from what I read) this could still be used on the road on the existing v5, but it's registered as a cat C? No other reason for it to be off the road? (Might be a stupid question I've just scanned through trying to find reasons but it's not easy on an iPhone!)

Yes, I could use it on the road as a Cat C but insurance on a Cat C was £2,000/yr last I looked.

Think you should look again. CCI didn't have a problem with mine (cat c). £600~ for 5k miles no commuting. If it can be used on the old v5 as a cat c that would change things massively.

I also have zero no claims because I can't use the no claims from my company car. IIRC CCI's underwriters wouldn't cover Cat C. I have to get the insurance to even try putting it on the road.

So can another person use it as a Cat C or just yourself? I'm really confused with all this! I can't see why the insurance is so much for a Cat C, there are so many around these days it can't be that much of an issue to the majority of insurers! And on the no claims front I got a quote the other day for a VX Turbo with no claims (Just to see how much, just incase I did lose my no claims) and it came out surprisingly cheap, about £1,400, not too bad considering I'm only 21.

Yes, we bought our first house. It was supposed to be less of a project than the VX was....

I really thought the VX would have shown back up again by now. It was bought as a test bed to develop products for VXs. Makes sense what with there not being a single rusty bolt on the entire car.

Popped back up at our place. Has been used a bit by the Eliseparts team but stood for a while. I've just bought it anyway. No idea what to do with it!
