Does anyone paint stripes nowadays? Appreciate the pros of using vinyl but suppose you have a limited choice of colours, I'm resisting, but gradually weakening, putting subtle darker silver stripes on mine.... The other idea I've toyed with is to print some subtley shaded (airbrush stylee) stripes on clear vinyl, allowing a degree of the silver base to show through, but very concerned they may be a bit too Pimp My Ride? Or should I be :flame:

The pic explains who done my vinyl!! I love em, got to be careful to fit in to the lines of the original car IMHO.
One downside is that its made the car more noticeable - not always a good thing (the police seem to like/don't like them!!) :groupjump:

The reflective stripes are the mutts nuts

R20BY_M's centre stripe I like and can't decide between that (which works with the car shape) or a classic off centre one which will be cut by the chicken wire.....

For the side, I like the ones below. My wife says they make the car look higher. I know what she means but that is more a picture thing with black. I think I will like them in the flesh. I could then use most of my clear stone protectors (still in packet). Alternative is to wrap it round like the pic above.

I have some light crazing on the sill - must have trapped something under down a dark country lane (tiny witness mark). Only visible when you look for it but sill stripes that cover the bottom half would completely hide it away.

Seems a little pricey for a few metres of vinyl.....cool that you get a VX with em, but i'll find it hard to justify that kind money for the stripes! chinky chinky

I am having fun on Paint.Net etc. designing my stripes. They have now gone a little OTT but, WTF, they are for me and not any one else :D When I get the 'final' draft I will probably post it here.

Looking at the pics posted earlier I'd go for the twin, thin stripes if any. Not sure they look right on the VX but they certainly don't look out of place of boy-racer'y
