"Bronzy-orange" (I'm sure there's a name for it) 08 plate Elise on the A43 into Towcester - gave me a very friendly wave. :D Think the dull blue Boxster owner I'd just overtaken felt very left out... poof

I flashed a Lotus Europa owner on Friday and the w*nker never acknowledged me  . Does he not know what a Europa is? Having said that his head was probably too far up his own arse to have seen me so maybe he should be excused!

Get your car de-badged, they’ll be much friendlier then. :gayfight:

Presumably nicknamed toenail, ie so far up his own arse that that's the only visible body part.

I've had several encounters with Lotus here in mainland Europe and I have to say that everyone with Elise or Exige or any Lotus always wave and acknowledge me, only I think one didn't wave out of dozens encountered. Its funny and you'll think I'm odd but Speedster owners have snubbed me quite a few times - strange but true. Cheers Ian

I think there is class war going on. And not been the VX owners and Elise owners. Those who have bought relatively new Elise and adore the ability to say "I have a Lotus" and those that bought the car for what it is capable of. The toffee-nosed wanna be Ferrari owners will see a VX and think that the VX is a copycat based on the Tigra. Whereas those in the know actually appreciate that the capital GM put forward for the VX helped Lotus as they were working on the S2 and that as many have pointed out there is a lot of lessons that have been swallowed up into the Europa. Additionally Lotus really showed the world that there was some blue blood in the Vauxhall development team (even though it was very well hidden) with the Lotus Carlton... Maybe we should start the rebellion... and snub the Loti owners!

 I really don't think any of them have time for such complex and logical thoughts between having a suit fitting at Gieves & Hawkes, and a cut and blow dry at Vidal Sassoon

Then, on the other hand, you get the yellow NA owner who tailed me for several miles on the M25 yesterday afternoon and eventually pulled alongside me only to blank me completely when I gave him a friendly wave. Blanked me again when I came up alongside him at my turn off. Maybe he was embarassed as his car was so filthy

My first ever Lotus acknowledgement today :o Got fingers lifted off the steering wheel in a pseudo wave - woohoo :jump: A fellow canoe took me by enough surprise at that hour of the morning - let alone a friendly owner of the Lotus variety!

Opposite ends of the spectrum for me this weekend. Black Exige on opposite side of dual carriageway on the A1 intiating with a double flash and his arm out the window with a big thumbs up. Alternatively a Burn't Orange Elise S2 as I headed past the Washington Service in the inside lane who I waved at to get a Middle Finger from him and his passenger. Waverunner - I have to agree, my remark about the snobs also applies to some VX owners... I have given a wave to before for a rather peircing scowl and then them looking away! Sadly it was always 05/06 VXT's owners. Obviously as a N/A driver I am not worthy....

WTF :o How utterly sad and pointless, apart from being downright rude and belittling. Did you post that spotted on SELOC :D

..that's my opinion also thumbsup .

A car's a car first and foremost, some belong to owners, others belong to owner-enthusiasts. It's really quite disingenuous to form such low opinions of other owners purely on the grounds that they don't 'enthuse' about the experience as we do.

If you get a wave/flash back, then you've shared that moment with another enthusiast, if you don't, then you haven't..simple as that really thumbsup .

No, not a member on SELOC sorry to say, am trying to keep with this forum alone with an occasion snoop on Type116, but three at once and I might as well just get request myself a P45 at work.

(Bit by bit I realise there is so much info on here as I am reading a thread which leads to another and on to another so on, until I spent 4hrs reading the Immi post whilst chatting to the Mrs on the phone)
