Better be quick - Palmersport dont think they are running these days in 2005 ! :o

I've been told I'm getting one with the VXR so I hope they are still running them.

Especially as I plan to auction it off for charity.

I took my vx to Thurlow Nunn at Fakenham today for its first service, as usual they were excellent. Steve the mechanic sorted my brake squeal and n/s door lock. Apparently we do not have a guard on the brakes like most cars and because all the sh*t and water mainly hits the n/s thats why we get problems. He has cleaned mine out and all seems fine.

Ian Grieve - Stirling Took car in for gearbox breather pipe mod after a track day caused the usual spillage and to check whether the heater is actually meant to work or purely for decoration. Vectra kit fitted under warranty. Conveniently forgot about Heater. Mechanics seemed able enough but the service reception girls seemed more interested in consuming kit kats and drinking coffee than actually listening to my requirements

However, the car waxs delivered with a missing undertray (yup, the MASSIVE slab of ally covering the underside) which took several months to arrive, and two attempts to fit.

 WTF?!? How the hell did that happen?!? Did you buy it brand new or used?

My car was in for a Timing Chain recall at Belmont Vauxhall in Aberdeen last week. The people at the service desk were ok, bit dippy at times - I was told by them initially that it was a clamshell off job when it wasn't :beat:

Colin, the VX technician was more than helpful when I went to pick the car up, and happy to have a chat about the work, what it involved, other wee niggles I have with the car, etc.

I had also asked them to fit my Vauxhall Sports Exhaust, which they were unable to as they couldn't get it all to line up. They spent two hours trying but gave up and advised that it would take a bit more work than the normal two hours to fit. They didn't attempt to charge me for that (some places might have).

On the way home (this is about 7pm) the ECU warning light came on. I was fizzing as I'd never seen it on before - phoned the garage, asked to speak to Colin. He knew straight away he'd forgot to plug in an oxygen sensor and was very apologetic when I took it back for him to rectify.

So overall, not as bad an experience as I was initially anticipating :o Still doubt I will be taking it there for service/MOT. I would rather have someone I trust perform these things.

Had first service done by Inchcape Exeter. Done over xmas week so didnt expect great service but was reasonable and not put off in any way. They sorted out drivers side window as it would have leaked. So pleased about that. Now car seems pretty water tight. Have got a cam belt issue that is going to ve sorted by Gurneys of Reading. Have been warned that they're not the best but will try then once and see how they get on. They seemed enthusiastic on the phone. Will report back.

MONOREP, Southall have done it again. They should be called Ronseal - I get the 'does exactly what it says on the tin' feeling every time. In fact, for me, they always go that extra mile. I would recommend them to anybody - They seem to have a passion for VX's They have fitted my Miltek and warranty replaced my shocks. Car is all clean - And it was picked up and delivered on time. Thanks Jason for all your efforts, again!

MONOREP serviced my N/A last week and did a load of warranty work [This week for the first time the rain's been mainly on the outside  ] Like vxr36 I'll praise them to the skies! Quite frankly if you're in London or anywhere near West London, use them! They're as sensible and as reasonable and as helpful as any dealership can be. They've done the right things and everyone I met there was a nice person while they were doing them. thumbsup

More dimsal feedback for the muppets at Hartwell in Norwich.... rant Car has been in twice now and with cr4p service both times. Firstly went in to have turbo seals fitted and a new Stack binnacle as rev counter was buzzing loudly. Result? Poorly fitted main seals (passenger side 'ear' is 10mm, maybe more, from edge of cantrail and pi55es water in even worse than before) and no binnacle or wing mirror seals fitted at all ('sorry sir, we ordered the wrong parts..').   So back I trudge, heavy of heart, yesterday to have binnacle fitted and discuss what they're going to do about the seals. Result - binnacle has been fitted but the cowling around it has been refitted so badly that the steering wheel fouls on turning, making a horrible graunching noise.  Also there is an errant screw rattling around in the passenger footwell (where on earth is that from??) :tt: :tt: . However, worst of all is the fact that when I inspect it in the daylight this morning, the interior is covered in scuffs and grease (even on the seats!!) from some oily YTS boy who can't even be bothered to look after my car!! W4nker!!!!!!!! :saw: :beat: :9mm: :flame: So, following inevitable rant at Service Manager ('really sorry sir, bring it back in and we'll valet it' - too bloody right you will!!), it goes back in Tuesday for all rectifications. I really don't hold out any hope that this will be the last time it'll go in, but will be contacting Vauxhall direct if the work isn't to my satisfaction... ....oh, and did I mention that I won't ever go back there again?? I REALLY AM NOT VERY HAPPY AT ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just taken car for 30k service + warranty on squeaking steering, heater control knob rplacement, ABS sensitivity and most annoyingly leakage into footwell. Service sound ok: ..heater done.... new steering rack ordered...new component for ABS ordered .... even though I told them part number and requirement 2 weeks ago when booked in! ..... BUT rant LEAK NOT FIXED!!! Car has been to 2 dealers for total of 12 days to repair it. L;ast one have even shown where the leak is! But have been advised to "monitor the leak". I know water is entering car below wiper box / rivetted plate / wiring loom on passenger side. Can you be more specific? But still want to monitor - have been doing this for a year. Any other experience of this and remedies? No names at moment of delaers concerned but will publish and be damned!!!

Got to put my vote in for Monorep in Southall - They've done several warranty items, a service and fixed the car twice after prangs, and they've done a flawless job every time. Not a foot put wrong yet, and they're pleasant and courteous too. Best car dealer/garage I've come across of any manufacturer - I'd highly recommend them. Cheers, jon.

Hi, I live in Didcot was looking for a VX Turbo for 18 months finally found on through the Network Q website (http://vauxhall.co.u...requestid=54079) . It was @ Browns of Loughton (http://www.brownsvauxhall.co.uk/) who had one @ the spec I required. James Bacon was my email contact that I pestered for 6 weeks asking about all manner of subjects on the car! On the 3rd week he advised me he had another VX220 Turbo in Moonland grey that might be of interest to me as it was only a few months old and he had sold it originally. To cut the story short I took a trip down there and true to his word it was immaculate we discussed the price and I paid the deposit. My wife took me down the next week to collect it; she is of the opinion that a plastic car should not cost so much, where on she warmed to the little beastie straight away thanks to James & Browns excellent hospitality (Thank God!). All the little imperfections had been removed and the car was in top showroom condition. James took my wife through all the running points of the car and paperwork which accompanies it, this was just incase she ever got to drive it, while I was chomping on the bit to get in it and take it home! In short the Sales Service, dealer backup paperwork & overall buying experience was excellent and I would recommend Browns of Loughton as the place to buy your VX from. Keven :D

I took my car to Warwick Shubrook at Diss, as I had the usual problem with the alt belt. I went there as they were recomended by Trescoman and Paulcp and I can now recomend them. I was kept informed about how long it would take to fix the fault and they sourced and fitted the parts in less than 2 days. B)

Hi Whiteboy Is the alt belt the same as what vauxhall call the poly v belt? If so was the work done free under warranty? How old was your VXT when you had this work done? Thanks

West End Vauxhall, Staples Corner.......God where to begin? I had my 1st service done there and that was ok, so too was the fixing of a radiator leak and re-sticking of a roof seal, but then it all starts to go down hill... My car was nearly out of warranty and the 1st position of the cabin blower fan didn't work so I took it in to be fixed. Took several days, eventually phone rings, "yes its all fixed sir". I pick the car up drive down road, turn fan on....still knackered. Take it back, no apology, "just leave it with us." Several days later, "yes its all fixed sir". I pick the car up drive down road, turn fan on....still knackered. Take it back, no apology, just "leave it with us". Several days later, "yes its all fixed sir". I pick the car up drive down road, turn fan on....and yes it works!!! Several days later the dashboard starts to lift off on the passenger side. Worse, when it rains water floods in over the dash, so guess what I take it back. I must have been wearing my Klingon cloaking device as I waited at reception for over half an hour before anyone saw me. Anyway i take this bloke round and show him the dash. "Oh no it shouldn't be like that, leave it with us sir". I think its now been around 10 days of ,"no we haven't fixed it, can't get the right part". Out of patience I went at lunchtime today to get the car, fixed or not, only to find I couldn't drive it away. Why? Because its now got a flat tyre......Who I wonder will end up paying for that? I'll bet its me. I truely wish I'd never gone there

Sorry to report that my first (and last?) visit to Phoenix Vauxhall in Wimbledon was less than satisfactory. In fact, it was verging on the traumatic!! Took my 52reg NA (still under warranty) for cosmetic, and leak issues. Sun-bleached dashboard, dodgy rear window material, roof - door seals, door trim etc. Left the car in the am. When I collected it at the end of the day, I was told that ALL of the warranty issues would have to be inspected by 'the man from Luton', and that nothing could be approved at this stage. Also, Car was returned with plenty of footprints on the dash-door-column, and had been unecessarily washed (with questionabe quality of sponge, leaving clear scars on the finish!!) Pressure washer had forced roof dirt into the cabin. Worst of all, the car had been re-flashed, resulting in the loss of my AMD stage 2 map!!!!!!!! Had merely asked for them to check that the ABS and alarm were up to the latest spec, not to mess around with the ECU. Phoenix is clearly incapable of dealing with these sensitive cars in a satisfying manner. One gets the feeling that the whole experience is very 'common'. VX's and VX owners need and deserve better, more personal attention. Queing with all the plebs in Corsa's etc, and dealing with the front of house staff (who know nothing about these cars!) is unsettling and frankly scary. I think I may venture to Crownhill for the Warranty work, as they have more experience and reputation. Avoid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Warren Z.
