My car was booked in for 3pm yesterday afternoon. I arrived at 10 past, and left again before 4pm. New AMM fitted and it is running fine again thumbsup I told them about the remap, in case they decided to reflash the ECU and overwrite the new map. They did not have a problem with this, although if it keeps blowing AMMs, I can see them using this a possible reason for the failures. One of the hazards of modifying a car though. So top marks to Belmont, a good experience all round. They sorted it quickly while I waited, and let me book it in when it was convenient for me.

I've gotta say, I was pretty pleased with them the day before too. Took the car in to sort out the leaking windows and a whistling from the drivers door due to an ill-fitting window. They dismantled both doors and re-fitted the windows, and it appear (for the moment) that both problems are cured. I know its no big deal - they've simply done what they were contractually obliged to do, but they were nice, and gave the car a wash'n'wax. I came away smiling, which is more than can be said for previous visits.

thumbsup Have to say they've gone up in my expectations recently. They've been liaising with Vauxhall to sort a few issues out and the car is booked in on Monday to get new spring, new seals and a few other bits and pieces sorted. Keep up the good work Belmont

Another thumbsup for Bayliss, Haines & Strange. Took my NA there for it's 20k (2nd annual) service on Saturday. Dropped it off at 8.30 & got a phone call to let me know it was ready at 11.00. When I got there to collect it I was introduced to the technician who'd serviced it (Paul?). He went through everything that he'd done, asked whether I'd driven it on a beach (sand on the RLWB & undertray), and mentioned that there was a slight rattle coming from the FNS corner. Couldn't trace it but said that he knew of 4 cars with the same rattle and that, once he knew where it was coming from, they'd give me a call to sort out a time to fix it. He also picked up that there was some movement in the drivers seat & is trying to get this sorted under warranty. Just waiting to find out. All this for £145. I'll be going back there in the future.

thumbsup Hi Am I the only female with a VXT? I bought my car from Greenhous Hanley, the service was and still is excellent. Neil Kirkham is the VX specialist and seems very knowledgable and helpful, particularly teaching me to get in and out with some sort of dignity. The car was ordered and delivered within a month, and the aftersale service has been superb. I took the car in a couple of weeks ago to have it checked over as the coolant light came on. I dropped the car off in the morning and was given an Astra courtesy car (would have had a VXT but i needed the room) and my car was fixed and valeted by the time i returned later that afternoon. They also fitted a shield under the grills which they told me was to stop any wet whether problems. So far i'm loving the car and can't wait to go to the vauxhall trackday. Kris

Got some warranty work done at Seward in Branksome (Bournemouth), a new heater, roof seals and some kind of rubber inside the doors to stop the glass rattling over bumps. They carried out the work on time and I got a courtesy car. Corsa only poof , but can't complain The door rattle was stopped, heater now works, I htought the roof seals were done well too, but now 2 weeks later they are coming off, must have used pritt stick by the looks of it. Not sure if I can be bothered to go back again, its a long way from home. I think I'll get them reglued at the 30k service, which will be at Picador in Southampton, which is even further away but I've read some good posts about them.

Anyone know of a GOOD VXT dealer in North London?

I bought my car at Whitemores Chislehurst may 03.
Took it in to have the rare pads changed recently and asked to stick back the little tray that fits behind the pass seat.

They did so and charged me £67 !!!

I couldnt believe it ,,,said that warrenty doesnt cover it..
If I had known I would never have mentioned it.

After trying to sort out the pass door seals they gave the car back with the window winder handle facing the wrong way.
And although the laek seems to have gone they seemed to have "stuck" the seal down with some grey guu that never seems to dry.
And Ive been waiting an eternity to get the small exhaust hea shield under the numberplate replaced.

Ive had it with them now and really rellly need to find a N London dealer who can show the car the respect it deserves.

Anyone thinking of going to Whitemores CHurst ,, I d think twice.

PERRYS OF DONCASTER I just have to say how brilliant and professional they are with regards to fixing vx220's thumbsup I did have reservations when i first took my car there as mine was one of the first they have done warrenty work on and there were a few little niggles which was to be expected. Now they are just great. They are even as we speak fixing and repairing things i didn't know were broken or needed replacing under warrenty. :groupjump: :groupjump: :groupjump:

Picador - Sholing, Southampton West End Vauxhall - Brent Cross, London Firstly, I've had previous dealings with West End Vauxhall, Staples Corner and have been persuaded to look elsewhere (see previous posts for West End experiences  ). To be fair West End have tried to make amends for previous matters, and last time I booked the car in, Paul Lange (MD) oversaw the whole process to make sure everything went properly. They carried out the full list of recalls as well as a service and things were improved. However, I would still be hesitant to leave my car with them again, hence to Picador. I picked it up the Speedy from Picador last night. A bit of a trek down from London, but very worth while. thumbsup I initially dealt with Graham, but have been dealing with Mark Edwards since and he's been a top bloke. Carried out: Regal n/a remap Adjusted windows to better fit hard top poof Replaced rear off side light cluster under warranty, due to misting Installed storage pack (leather side pockets and netting) Bought VX220 luggage set All very professionally dealt with. Parts were obtained in a short period of time, able to accept a car on a weekend, able to collect a car up to 8pm during the week. Gave me a call this morning to check everything was ok. Those are the little touches that make an ownership and dealer experience rewarding. thumbsup All the work seems to have been carried out to a high standard and I was impressed with the way that Mark kept me informed of the work progress and worked around my difficulty getting down and collecting. Highly recommended - and more to the point, worth the 70 miles each way to get there!!

KEEP WELL AWAY.

ORMSKIRK VAUXHALL, COUNTRY ROAD, ORMSKIRK, LANCASHIRE.

rant : I have never had such bad service from a main dealer before. They have damaged the car, get car back dirtier than it went in (inside and out), trip meter is always set at zero, apprently the alarm will only go off if and I quote "a dead cat is thrown at the windscreen", the courtesy cars: never had fuel in them, alway dirty like the local tart had it on the field all day.

Took the VX to Bristol Street Motors Newcastle to get my roof seal ugraded, arrived at about 9.30 in the morning and picked it back up at 11.30am and the car was cleaner inside than it was when I left it, sorted! The beauty of this being that I could take the girfriend shopping to shut her up whilst the car is in the garage :D Thanks to Mark at Bristol Street for sorting it out for me and giving me a map to find the workshop thumbsup, oh and Steve and Vince for fitting the seal. I let my brother wash the car yesterday and he absolutley soaked it all over, anyway no leaks. thumbsup Browncanoe.

I've been using Hartwell in Sheffield. The VX specialist in sales (Mike Barrett) is an amazing guy, and has done us proud. However, the car waxs delivered with a missing undertray (yup, the MASSIVE slab of ally covering the underside) which took several months to arrive, and two attempts to fit. The gearstick shroud was scratched by the seatbelt catch, and the facia of the CD was scratched to hell. All fixed eventually, but took the edge off my delivery-day excitement! Since then the VX has been in for a bit of a repair (new rear clamshell after a bit of a smack), and the work took MONTHS. The clam was fitted within a month (going back soon, as the paint is crap in places), and THEN they ordered the suspension components damaged during the accident. Another month or so. To top it all, I have only ever been given a Corsa as a courtesy car. They wanted to give me an Agila for the first service, so I just waited while it was done. I'll be trying Grimshaws in Manchester next time.....

I bought mine from Crownhill also. They are obviously experienced in the VX220's. Wayne is a dedicated enthusiast and keen to please, but seems overworked. Thus I am reluctant to chase up the 'Free' palmer day. I have had no problems but only 2 months on and 1500 miles...Don't want to temp fate.

Whatever you do, don't miss out on the Palmer day! I am not sure why you called it "free". It really was free. Actually, we paid for my wife to go as well and it was definitely worth it!!
