Dude, its only a price for material and grinding isn't it? Competitive tho. The Kent cams seem reasonably priced and come in a wide variety.

the kentcams listed in your diagram are not for our z22se-engine. it´s fot the castiron ecotec up to -02. you can remove them from your list. the imotec isn´t the right ones either (i think) you better send them a email and ask.

Got this also: Hi, This price listed on our website is for reground cams. We do also offer the same profile ground on gm blanks for a little more. We are actually waiting for the final approval from jbody.org for a group purchase for these cams. Taking part in the group purchase will save you $50 to $80 usd depending on if you choose to go with blanks or not. I am not in the office currently so I do not have the numbers for lift and duration on hand, but I will email them to you tonight once I get back to the office. If you would like to be part of the group purchase once it begins please let me know and I will email you once it begins of if you are interested in buying a set of cams not as part of the group purchase I will discuss it with my partner to see if we can offer you the same price. Cheers, Clayton

Interesting!

However the 242° "sport cam" I do not really get. It seems worse than the std one!!

http://www.gozzoli.i...gozzoli0120.pdf

U have this one as well at €629 , and they will supply the remap.

One aspect with a lumpy idle for a 270-280° cam may be the difficulty to achieve good emission readings at a MOT/TÜV test, also....

Its that strange american duration I can´t work out: Intake Duration 201@006 Lift .440 inch Exhaust Duration 197@006 Lift .428 inch It is the duration measured at a specific lift, while we in Europe specify it at zero-lift. Dunno how they translate, or if it has to be actually measured (cos of ramping etc.)

This readings are impressive. What I don't understand is if this is reallity, then why doesn't GM fit those cams from the beginning  . They can't be more expensive to produce. And they give a similar torque and power curve, but then higher :o

Yes, it is pretty doubtful. A regrind should not give that dramatic gain, there is nothing magic with this or that grind AFAIK, whatever they tell u! A regrind gives higher lift and a slightly larger duration, I guess. But that GM has not fitted the best type of cam to our engine is pretty obvious. The have aimed at having low fuel consumption and great torque, flexibility.

It has to be measured due to the shape of the ramps. Camshafts for american cars are usually specified at 0.050" lift and also at 0.006". The value at zero lift is stupid to use since it tells almost nothing about the cam.
