depends on the timing and lobe separation. the blow by and insufficent burn of the af-mix. much of this can be mapped away with a "emission-setup" :D i talked to my map-guy and it´s most likely possible to change the setup for the knocksensor, but he needed information of the location in the std-map. i shall let him have my spare ecu to fiddle with thumbsup it is also possible to use a standalone ecu that overrides functions that is unwanted. we have a swedish team that builds a engine management sytem called NIRA that can be used paralell with std-ecu and leaves the FBW etc fully funtional. there is some american that is going to release a program for adjusting the std-ems thumbsup

If u run a "emission-setup" at the SBP/MOT and the ditch it, it is possible to damage the cat long-term, I guess? Yes I've seen the american posts about a OBDII mapping program. However, do they share the same ECU as us? They have the mechanical TB etc. It would be a beauty to have the standard ECU mappable, tho. :groupjump: The costs are pretty high for a stand-alone, I guess, ~10 000 SEK. The NIRA one, what would that one cost? It will be really interesting to hear what your neighbour finds in the ECU!! :groupjump: Maybe he think its a piece of cake! Imnotworthy

haltech's are good but can be harder to program, the tec-3 is a lil easyer, a few people with ecotecs have been using a greddy e-manage, and for the cheap there is the Megasquirt. The Megasquirt is a do it yourself engine management, you can buy all the parts and put it together yourself or you can buy one thats been put together for you. I have a friend thats selling one put together by a pro he is selling for i think 200$

cavalier ecotec wiring

isn´t the GReddy a piggyback? if so it could work. can it alter the knocksensor?. biggest concern is that we have the FlyByWire-tb. none of the above standalone system is capable to manage this. i only know of 3 systems that can and none of them is under 4000$ in europe. 14500sek = 2150$

These are the cams which were on a group purchase on the j-body site.

They work out at £305 + delivery and customs.

It is this firm:

http://www.hptuners.com/

They have completed the OBDII software for the Sunfire 2200 but the Ecotec remains to be complpleted.

And, as stated earlier, they do not have the electric TB, so there are differencies between the ECU:s, maybe completely different :o
