HmmmmmmmmmAreawise the move from 58 to 68 mm is equivalent to the move from 147 HP to 202 HP airflow-wise.
So the 68 mm TB would fit PaulCP:s or ShinyAndys cars really well IMHO. Could free up several HP almost FOC.....................
Tempting - could mate with the Dbilas quite well

How should one make the extension? To have something that plugs right in and extends 150 mm sounds great, but where do we find the necessary female/male (shemale? ) connectors? The loom needs extending @ 150mm as the plug has moved 180 degrees, so swapping them with the extensions (whilst soldering them) is a better way.

Great news!Just fitted the 68mm TB (with a VW golf inlet manifold) and the engine runs
I need to finish off the install as various pipes blanked off or not connected
Once it's finished I will post the results of a road test (hopefully not 6 months again )
PS
I blanked off the EGR valve (fitted a piece of metal between the gasket and valve) a few weeks ago. No performance gain but stopped the engine from revving high on first start up.
Interesting blanking off the EGR thingy, was it hard?

No very easy , just used the gasket and traced around it onto a sheet of stainless steel to produce a blanking plate, drilled the 2 holes and created a small dent in the middle (the valve protudes a little).
Then simply fitted the gasket, then the blanking plate and finally the EGR valve.
The reason I tried this first was to see if it caused any eml, plus my new inlet manifold did not have a fitting for a EGR pipe
So after a few days I completely removed the EGR pipe (inlet - head) and fitted a suitable blanking disc in the standard inlet manifold (strangely the engine stopped high revving at cold start up without the pipe )
So without the EGR pipe a 68mm TB would almost bolt straight on to the standard inlet, all that would be required is an adaptor plate and the plug wiring, plus a little porting of the inlet section below the TB

I could post some photos, very easy you just need a thin metal sheet (0,2 0,3mm range) to make a blank gasket, need some grind the EGR valve to make it plane but very easy job....Great news!
