... B) ...pretty darn cheap indeed!! more tempting by the day...did you place the order already?!!! those cams require ECU modification, what are your plans? are the competition springs included in the deal? did you choose the higher comp. rate 10,5:1 !? iircc, all the other cams available around, like moto-concept, pipercross, dbilas, have a 256 degree value...so your ones are pretty extreme... :P

i have´nt placed an order yet. got to have my friends at kth to look at it first.

going with the MBE941-system that i already have been working with for the last 5 years on my other cars.

no springs are included in this price. the original will do fine up to 7500-8000rpm.

i hope that a will pass 220hp/7500rpm with my mods.

I was reading that for high rpm's and high lift like the cams you choose, they suggest new spring.....

is such mbe941 ECU a development of yours?

edited to say I found it at www.sbdev.co.uk ... B)
what about the wiring looms...there are two connectors coming off the speedy's stock ECU...

well in my case the wirings are no problem. engineloom will be new and all original wiring is taken out of the car and i´m going to replace it with my own.
i´ll save about 5kg with this.

the electronic throttlebody have to go aswell and is replace with a new mechanical 75mm.

going to make my own intake manifolds with these runners from http://www.g-e-t.biz/
look att runners 46-56mm. they cost 18€ a piece excl vat and has a faboulus finish.

i know they recommend to change springs, but i think they charge too much for their and the std-springs will hold out to 7500rpm easy.
maybe a will change them if my friends at kth makes me with violence :D

i got the final answers from mp about total cost for: rods/pistons/compcams/valvesprings/retainers/shipping adds up to 2270$ = 1867€. it´s so cheap that i´m shocked. they had all parts in stock except pistons that would take 3 weeks from ordering. what do you say ricky?. interested! if we order together maybe we can get a better price for 2 sets. //anders

if I do not go for the charger option, I would get the INCREASED comp.rate pistons at 10,5:1...

how much does it cost to you to develop the MBE system?
I got a quote yesterday from a tuner, ECU, wiring, programming would end up in the 2400 euros area...  ...kinda pricey I tought....

shipping to italy is approx 100usd....

...just mailed'em to ask for a discount on a order of TWO sets...maybe free-shipping... :P

....the latest from Delta... :P Dear Ricky, the installation can be done by a good mecanic. For putting the ECU, you will get a drawing. 5 kit's will be finished the 17.12.03, 3 of them are sold immediately, on one there is a reservation. So do not hesitate to long. You will be very happy about. Greetings, Felix Wyder ...he's a good salesman, no doubt! B) mmmmmm...decisions.... :drink:

...about the latest.... we open the 5.1.04. A kit will be ready for you this day. We will probably not do testing because of snow. We have now 210hp an 265Nm. The ECU setup for foreign countries is different then for CH. You get the one which fits also racing tracks ......mmmmm.... :P :jump: :D ...I now need to figure out the way to be there by the 5th....

Ricky, Have you been able to test drive the DM supercharged Speedster yesterday or was there too much snow? BTW, what's the latest on the Ohlins – did you ask about them. Is that 210bhp in Swiss version or "special" version? Can't wait to hear what you think, though going from your lightweight to a non-stripped, heavy-wheeled version, the power-to-weight difference will be less dramatic – just imagine what it will feel like in yours though!

Translatiom from THIS Delta–Motor website page about the Speedster with supercharger:

"Highlights:

Clear power increase

Suitable summer and winter tyres available

DMW wheels (officially tested) exclusively available through Delta–Motor

Suspension compatible to Lotus Elise (supplier DevoC AG)

The tuning kit developed by Delta–Motor has now been homologated. Neutral testrdrivers from home and abroad have confirmed to us the very pleasant driveability; not surprisingly, as the supercharged engine develops in excess of 200Nm between 2000 and 6000rpm.

The service-friendly unit can be maintained and even installed by any interested (OPEL) garage. A post-installation check is then carried out at Delta–Motor before the car is taken to the official vehicle testingstation to have the modifications tested and registered.

The guarantee for new cars is 12 months and can be extended for a fee of Fr.1.–/day for a further year. For used vehicles, an individual guarantee can be calculated.

20 kilos extra weight cannot prevent an improved performance and the Delta–Motor AG – Speedster reaches 100km/H (62mph) in 5.5 secs. The strong interest already coming from abroad, in particular from Italy, England, Sweden and Finland, should guarantee the success of this product.

Also available are approved and the local firm DevoC AG provides a complete Oehlins suspension package for the Speedster incl. Speedster Turbo, as well as the Lotus Elise."

:) Now I need the info on the wheels Thorney is sorting to see if I can get them passed for use in Switzerland and then see what discs and callipers will fit. My rear tyres are on the legal limit and I don't want to buy standard new ones only to not use them. Hopefully all will be sorted before my next Hockenheim trip which will probably be around Easter. Magic! :D

Hi Ricky/Anders, Can we just focus on the Crank a second? The engine I am working on is of unknown history (claimed to be 20k miles). It may well be one of the ex Palmer Sport car engines - if so, it'll have had a hard life. Not that that worries me, 'cause I'm sure these engines are dificult to harm easily, and probably loved the hard work! Anyway, It does resolve me to redo the cylinder bores before rebuilding, and look at regrinding the crank. This in itself means the crank has to come out, and Ricky has worried me by saying that it's best to leave the crank undisturbed because of tolerances, etc. My own feeling is that I don't want to be scared of a particular part of the engine, I want to master it all. If all it takes is care, then I've plenty of that. The last engine I built was in the late '60's, which was a supercharged mini engine, and I understood every part of that engine. So, do you see any real issues regarding reboring the block and grinding the existing crank? How are you guys dealing with the same things? Are you just putting new big-end shells onto a used crank, and new rings into used bores? Steve

..have to agree with you Steve, seem pretty straightforward. Grinding the shaft and boring the block. Only question is if there is some kind of hardening of the surface on either part. Funny though, the last engine I built was a tuned mini engine as well!!

you should only regrind the crank if it´s damaged or out of tolerances. an american saying that actually is right is "if it ain´t broken, don´t fix it". i should without a doubt put new bearings and rods on a used crank. but not before checking all dimensions, surfaces and probably test it with a plasticgauge. about bore the cylinders i would again check dimension and if they were within makers specs i would only give them a touch with the hone. //anders
