If you wanted a kit, he reckons it's fairly starightforward to fit - you'd have to sort something out re. shipping, warranty & price.
Cost for Swiss customers for supply and fitting, including VAT @ 7.6% and official registration of tuning with authorities is around 10,500 Swiss francs.

.....mmmmmm.....

SpeedyK,
due to your report, saliva is starting to build up in my mouth... :D :P

still, 6800€ :o is a HUGE wallop of cash for a conversion kit.....wondering how much they charge for the kit alone....

do they remap the existing ECU or they developed a new unit?

I do have substantially modded intake and exhaust, that would lead to a definite hike in final power output, that might be too much for the gear/clutch to sustain!

questions, questions....

If you can't wait 'till you've tried mine (in Spring hopefully) best to contact them direct with any questions. The boss, Felix Wyder (pronounced Faylix Veeder) speaks English. :)

this was Mr. Wyder's reply to my inquiry... :P "The engine ist doing very fine, we had several drivers on it, also fro OPEL Switzerland. We pass also nois and Euro4 gaz emission and start the final homologation now. The kit is complete, you dont need any more parts, but a good mecanic to mount. We will do some mor fotos in the internet next wwek. We did several cars now, they all are happy. The actual price ist 4700 Euro for the kit, italian taxes not included." so out of 6800€, 4700 is considered materials and 2100 installation... mmmmm......

something I forgot to ask is this:

do they remap the ECU after installation?
... and if so, what's the deal for those buying the kit-only ?

Not sure about the ECU... Could it be that they have a replacement one as part of kit rather than remap? Did you ask about possible gains with inlet/exhausts mods? You'll have to 'phone him again! :P

....swift reply from mr. Felix... :D Dear Sir we dont know if our kit fits the special intake and we dont know what is a de-katted exhaust; you probably took the kat out?, we dont like this so much! [...I had no doubt, being swiss... ] Anyway, the auxiliary electronic system is completly remaped and you just have to mount it and fit the cables. It is not very complecated to do, but you need 2 to 3 days finally. Also, we can never give any informations about the combination of different systems we do not know. You will be happy with the Delta motor DMK System, for shure. Greetings, Felix Wyder ...so, seems like there is an additional unit that parallels the main ECU..... that is cool....probably it is fully manageable once installed, to adapt for any further mods.... need to ask that as well!! :D B) ...folks, here it comes the turbo-slayer N/A !!! :poke: :groupjump:

I have had some e-mail conversation with the guys at Delta-motor...and my german is improving fast !! It seems the modification includes special connecting rods with oil-spray on the piston bottom and a head gasket which lowers the compression ratio from 10:1 to 9,5:1. I suppose that new pistons giving 8:1 or so would give a further possibility to increase the boost, but I havent asked them.

Looks like you can add me to the list of guy's who are seriously considering this, best of both worlds. less money than a turbo and won't it suprise a few people," it's only an NA !" :D I wonder who would consider doing this mod in the Uk for us. Any takers? Nick

Logically it has to come down to three -

AmD
Regal
Courtenay

I've read elsewhere on here that Courtenay are developing their own supercharger. Regal know their way around VXs but they're down on the south coast. AmD come very highly recommended and they are a bit more centrally located. Ok they're near Oxford but that's still a lot more central than Southampton. Thorney and Paul have good connections there so maybe they could ask and see what response they get.

There's enough NAs over here to make this very worth someone's time and effort.

I approached Brodie Brittain Racing some four weeks ago about my VX (they did all the work on my MX5 turbo and they've done heaps of work on Elises in conjunction with Bell and Colville. And the answer I got - Feck all :9mm: Not even an acknowledgement :beat: . So much for their bloody adverts then :poke:

I wonder if there would be enough profit just in just fitting to make it worth while for AmD and still make it viable for us cost wise? Nick
