my wicked logic tells me that Courtenay, being in the process of developing their own charger kit, should be VERY intersted and motivated in scrutinizing/investigating/installing a Delta kit..... that would make their own devl. much easier, being (according to those who tried it...) the delta kit a top-job!! you know, the old saying, get the best and make it better! :P

anyway, more answers from delta... :P [Ok, if you want to have more power later, you should not at first change the cams, we can make turn the compressor a little bit faster. If you have a problem with the auxiliary box later on, you just have to send us the piece and we will reprogram it in our ca, or you bring the the car to us; are you from Switzerland???? So keep your eyes wide open in the future, at least if you drive your Speedster with our compressor engine. ]

I think they're promising an "intense" driving experience – I would read it as positive!

update: I payed two visits at Delta-motor , on the way up and back from the Ring 6 days later.... unfortunately, I was not able to test.drive it, still at the noise-emissions offices, on yesterday I was told by mr. felix that everything is approved now, and next week the yellow supercharged speedy will be back home, available for test-drives.... I will be back on sat. 27, so hopefully I will test it then! I was overall impressed by the company, good know-how, enthusiastic employees and friendly atmosphere. I was given a detailed explanation on the supercharger kit, and my questions were answered nicely.... the kit will weight no more than 15-20kg. the charger is made by a Danish company, self-lubricated with a special oil that lasts 60K km. it does not require an intercooler, since it is bolted directly on the stock manifold, so the air temp. stays below 70C°. also the thermostat and the plugs are original. the ECU is a new unit that parallels the standars one, and can be re-programmed if needed. there are 2 extra fuel injectors, the compression ratio is decreased to 9,6 using 2 headgaskets and another layer, to a 2mm thickness. they drill a hole in each conrod, so to create an oil jet hitting the piston floor, adding extra cooling. the boost is contained at 0,5 bar. all in all is a pretty nice package, seems well developed and installed, and I am seriously tempted by it..... only problem, the price, quite high for non-swiss standards.... :( before committing to such an expense, a road test is surely needed.

Great stuff Ricky. Won't drilling holes in the rods actually weaken them? I didn't think you needed more power anyway?

weakened? good question!! only time will tell... :P

the hole is pretty small, but sure enough, if not originally planned....

more power?!?
I was almost convinced by doing it regardless, but after the impressive weekend at the ring, where I was faster than everything else, other than 500hp porkers and two slick-shod CSL's....I'm not so sure about adding extra horses.... Spa on sept. 30 will tell... :P

You're right that it is a small hole... Should be fine I'd hope. It also highlights the attention to detail that Delta have gone to... I think it also helps justify the cost as it is a full engine out job, rather than just a top end rework... Paul

Come on, Ricky!

As long as you've got the traction, the more horses the merrier! :D And traction is not not a problem with the mid-engine set-up.

You know you want to. :groupjump:

Got written confirmation yesterday from Delta-motor, that supercharger is now approved as Euro 4 conform and can be fitted. (Ricky had posted to that effect already in the Ohlins thread). But... they have not yet sent the promised, new powercurve chart - still want to see what they are actually claiming for the kit. Will post it when I get it. :)

I spoke to Jon at Courtenay tuning yesterday,he is going to Delta this week to look at their Supercharger, and possibly import the kit. He seemed positive :D Steve
