I can actually feel a little tug on my heart-strings over some of the posts of late

Where can I get a custom bodykit?
Can I put 19s on the VX?
I've just smacked my VX into a wall because I lost it on some diesel and I wasn't driving like a twat, honest

Oh dear, I bought the VX with the sole purpose of getting away from the chav crowd - other car is a MG ZR and unfortunately that forum just disintegrated into chav-dom in the time I was on there! And before anyone remarks - the ZR is a pretty chavvy car yes.... However if you keep it un-modified yopu are still left with a BRITISH (most important) everyday hatchback that handles pretty damned well. You certainly won't be hearing me ask about superficial mod's as the first thing I was planning to do when I got the VX was remove the MMG Diffuser, though as time has rolled on I can't be arsed messing around refitting the original.

why stop at 19" 20" would be much better; go for 20" on the back and 19" on the front to get the handling balance that was so wrong when the original car was launched. Everyone on the interweb knows that a back street tuner with years of experience will always know better than any manufacturer of a mass produced car. Don't forget to increase the width of the front tyres as well, 175 is silly looks wrong so must be , put 195 or 205's on at least if you need to fit arch extensions it hasn't been done before but the only way to improve the car is to try and good luck to you ffs

Seriously, the VX220 is based on a Lotus designed rolling chassis, why would anybody want to mess with the fundamental lotus philosophies in car design and engineering.
Fitting bigger wheels is a step in the wrong direction and very few people do it yet alone contemplate it.

Vauxhall for a start, wasn't the Lotus frame designed for 16" wheels?

Doesn't this depend on who you ask on the interweb again?

OK so Vxl wanted 17" all round to improve the look but the Lotus frame, Elise and VX only share a few parts compared to the total number, so it would suggest that perhaps Lotus didn't compromise it all that much and there was more done around designing it all to suit the larger wheels.

Not the done thing to suggest I know, but when the Europa was launched from Lotus and with all the options in the world it was originally 17's fitted now I think it is on 18's.

All the interweb justification sounds like people finding good ways to justify spending money on their P&J not a bad thing but is it not just for the sake of it.
Does anyone on here really have the skills for the road, and even if they did is there the space on the Queens highway to notice the difference?

Lotus initially used 15" front and 16" rear wheels on the Elise S1. If the VXR is supposed to the the epitome of what a VX can be then that is what I will use as a benchmark.
