PLANS MOTORSPORT

Good service and advice, reasonable cost, would definitely use again.

:yeahthat:

Helpful, good advice, friendly and did a great job of stripping, checking, greasing & re-building my front brakes whilst in for a service. I'll be going back for sure.

Can anyone recommend somewhere in Essex? Will be for a service on my VXT at around 60k mileage which is due.

Have looked through this topic and all suggestions seem to be outside...maybe theres a reason for that ;)

There is Sinclaires in Romford who are mainly Lotus specialists. They did a great job on repairing my front clam and spraying it.
Was thinking about getting mine serviced there aswell soon, though have not had any experience with them other than their bodyshop and an MOT there.

Sure they would do a good job servicing a VX as they're always doing Elises. thumbsup

Thanks, was speaking to Wayne @ Sinclaires today and arranging to get it there next week for its service. They sounded quite knowledgable so all good!

On the back of this, just had my service done at Sinclaire's and I can't reccomend them enough. Excellent service! I'll be taking my car here for all my VX needs in future.

thumbsup to Neil Garner Performance Engineering in Wiltshire - yearly service & mot done and dusted. He certainly knows his way around a VX. Friendly team, courtesy car if needed, fair prices and some interesting 'projects' on the go in the workshop for those that are interested. Will be going back next year.

Voodoo Motorsport in Flaunden Herts. Elie and Laura went above and beyond to ensure my car was ready for a day at Brands tomorrow. Despite the fact that they are performance VW Audi specialists, prices were very good and these people are certainly passionate. Will certainly use them again. chinky chinky

Just had the cambelt and waterpump replaced . I was going to do it myself but have been to busy and it was over due so I booked it into the local vauxhall dealer. Martin Rumble of Bedworth. All went well , car came back in same condition it left me with no 'issues' and the bill was £100 less than quoted. They even locked it up overnight , indoors for me when I got delayed and couldnt collect. :)

Are there any Vauxhall dealers in SW London who can do a service on my car. All Im really after is a stamp in my service booklet as I can do pretty much everything myself so no point in going to Plans or BOT. I'll save that journey for when something goes wrong that my 'skills' cant fix I.e Timing chain or GEO!

BoT will do as much or as little as you ask them to. I try to do all my own consumable changes, so just get them to put it on the ramp and do safety checks and the MOT. They don't mind if you supply your own oil etc.

Just thought i'd pop on here to sat BOT wrapped the silver screen surround on my black Tubby on Friday. Did a cracking job, and also installed a subtle/shallow sunstrip as well. Was good to chat to Steffe, who is both knowledgeable and friendly. And when i mentioned i felt a slight play in my steering, he quickly diagnosed it as a dry UJ and tightened it all up for me (for free). So all in all, excellent service, and certainly a company i'd happily use again, and recommend. chinky chinky G

Dan Jude at SPS automotive in Consett, County Durham. Timing chain replacement, oil and filter change and fitting of new exhaust manifold 350 quid all in. Lifts to and from the bus station and took me back to pick up the car at about 8pm after I finished work. Top notch service, he's got a good reputation around these parts, justifiably so from my first experience.

Yeah I know, was chuckling when reading the other post about benny charging 400 quid, I had been considering the trip down to wolverhampton! Dan wanted 250 for the chain including parts, labour and an oil change!

Paul and Dan at PSR in Bishops Stortford have been awesome yet again. Took my car in for a service and a backbox swap with Matt. (Thank you again!). It turned into a bit of a tricky one but they sorted it all along with my Headlight 'Issue' and drove the car down to the station today to drop it off. Can't recommend them highly enough, top guys. thumbsup thumbsup

A vote for DG developments here. Just picked my car up from Duncan last night (while trying not to disturb the dog or wake the baby) fresh from a service and check over. Duncan completed the full cambelt service (incl water pump), flushed and replaced the coolant, fitted an MMG underdrive kit, flushed and replaced brake fluid, modded the airbox, reapired my top heatshield, corrected the location of my gearcables (rubbing), changed the gearbox oil, replaced some undertray bolts, replaced fuel filter with light weight version, checked and altered the tyre pressures and gave the car a general inspection and reported back. He also had the car MOT'd for me (which it passed :groupjump: with one advisory for cracking front tyres) There's a couple of items that'll need doing sometime in the future, but it looks like I managed to bag a 'good un' for my £11k outlay. Imnotworthy Duncan's service was great - properly thorough. Which for someone who is new to this car, and VX's in general was perfect: real piece of mind. The drive home last night (mostly motorway and in the dark, so not the perfect home for a VX IMO) was great, and the car felt nicely responsive (that'll be the MMG underdrive kit then) and sounded great (airbox mods). Couldn;t be happier - just needs a good clean now. From making it easy to drop off and pick up to his pricing, I can't do anything but recommend him and his work. His Mrs might not be so happy to hear this, but i think Duncan might have just netted himself a regular customer. thumbsup G
