My VXt seats are so uncomfortable its gettting to the point where im thinking of selling up :( and getting a different car. Im 5-10 and size 32/34 waist but feel like im floating around in the seat and its physically hurting my bottom/ hip on a really hard part of the seat on the right hand side. I dont think harnesses are the answer either. Are there any aftermarket seats available (apart from the 3 types on ebay) for the vx which are comfy and have more padding. Anyone fitted any non standard seats? ive got 2 x spare seat rails to experiment with if I know other seats fit in? weight isnt an issue as id rather be comfy that have a stripped out seat anyone got any ideas - no wise crack comments please as its really starting to p*ss me off :( :angry2: cheers Dan

Best bet is to get the centre of the seats trimmed in alcantra. This is very grippy and prevents as much movement in the seat. Ideally combine this with harnesses for any track work you might do.

Im not sure that would help -although they do look gorgeous. the seats at the side are too low and hard for me :( the plastic has hardly any covering at all... and its very low - eg no gripping of my lower hips / upper legs.

hmm, I'm 5-8 and 30 waist and find the VX seats fantastic. I've never felt uncomfortable in them even with 4hrs+ solid driving. I do use a CG lock which really holds your hips/pelvis in place. Give it a try, they're only 30ish quid

You can fit just about any Lotus Elise / Exige seat using seat runner adaptors produced by Reverie (available from Hangar 111). I have Elise 160S seats in mine (bought off eBay) and, although there is less padding on the back than the VX seats, they are much more supportive and are fine on long journeys :)

Get a mog seat, that will stop you sliding around. Had a sit in Alex's at the national, surprisingly comfortable without any pads.

Not for an everyday drive though

I know exactly what you're talking about! I just don't fit in the seat properly in my car - I'm 6ft and size 30 waist (i.e. skinny :P) so I don't really have any padding to make up for the seats lack of it. After about half an hours driving I get a dead leg and that's not good when you try and go for the brake in a hurry. :( I've tried the CG lock, and it does hold you in place, so you might want to try one, but it just held me in place more against the uncomfortable seat and I ended up even more sore! I think it's just a case of some people fit and some don't. I don't, and as I'm having to do more mway miles soon I'm selling my car unfortunately. I think Probax seats from newer Elises are meant to fit though and be very comfortable so could be worth a try...

I thought the Probax seats were less comfortable than the regular VX seats when I had a test drive in an Exige SC a couple of weeks backs. You've really got to try them before you pay the premium for having the Probax tag on the side of the seat.

All the female VX owners I've met are sticks, yet I've never heard one of them wibble on about how uncomfortable the seats might be. I can only conclude therefore, that you are all poof I thank you.

I'm just over 5' 10 and also have a 32" waist. I personally think the VX seats are very comfortable, even on long runs (to the ring and back) God help me when I get some race seats to put in though

Simples !

Might be a stab in the dark but I had a passenger ride in a VXR and thought the standard VXR seats were quite a bit more comfy than my turbo's seats...
