All rebuilt again but not for long.

Posted Image

The obd dash cable all in and setup and working perfect quick video to show it working.

Posted Image

Next up was a brand new top of the range alarm system with all the features. It's got special features to stop people hijacking the car, glass sensors that picks the noise of smashing glass. Tilt feature to stop people pinching your wheels, dual proximity sensors that put a bubble around the car to warn people that the alarm will sound if you touch the car, tracking on my mobile phone and plus many many more. My favourite feature though Id the remote start where I've done a quick video

Posted Image

I also decided to install reverse sensors into the rear exhaust bracket to help with the aid of reverse since I've just about lost my rear view mirror. I bought a decent cobra kit as i didn't fancy any cheap Chinese kits you can buy off eBay.
Posted Image

It also fitted perfect inside near the bulkhead panel.

Posted Image

Cut the rear holes for the sensors on the bracket and then wired it into the reverse lights. I wrapped all the wires in the heat sleeve to protect them from the exhaust.

All fitted and a video to show they work

Wired in the extra light for the bulkhead panel and usb connection for the centre consoles. I've also fitted the lotus coin holder instead of the vx version as this now fits in perfect with the lotus bulkhead panel and center console.

Posted Image

Posted Image

Next was to modify the lotus panel that fits between the metal rollover bar and clam. It's almost just a foam panel to cover the looks of the rollover bar. It didn't fit perfect due to the vx bulkhead so I had to cut it down. I then dropped the bulkhead panel and roll bar panel off at the flocking place to get covered.

Time to start stripping the car front end off to finish the last of the painting of the wishbones and uprights and changing to black to match the back.
Posted Image

Just about stripped off again

Some new parts for the front end rebuild which is front plate, two track rod ends, nuts and bolts, stainless steel shims, SKF bearings and then new high temp seals for the Ap 4 pots as apparently the seals that come with the 4 pots are made of chocolate and mine were starting to melt so they have a high temp version which I hope Will sort this problem.

Posted Image

New rubber abs mounts and bolts vs old

Posted Image

Products arrived for painting the wishbones and uprights. I also sent off all the wishbone bones and uprights off to get the old powder coat taken off with a special chemical.

Posted Image

First of the suspension items i stripped down was the abs cradle and painted up and fitted with the new rubbers.

Posted Image

Posted Image

While my parts were away getting stripped I set about mounting the traction control into the sill trim.
All cut out and rubber trim added to make it look more oem

Posted Image

Changed the gearbox oil

Posted Image

Got the lotus bulkhead panel and the roll bar cover back from getting flocked

Posted Image

Fire extinguisher all fitted and plumed in now

Posted Image

Posted Image

Interior shot of what it's looking like now but still have some plans to change it yet.

Posted Image

Well this picture for me is a kind of achievement picture to say that all the work, time and money I've spent on it hasn't been for nothing as it passed its Mot with flying colours. The mot guy said it was the cleanest lotus he had ever seen and was amazed at all the work I had done.

Posted Image

Well the next stage is all about body work and painting 😀 It's in the process of getting done right now and I will update with lots of pictures of the process as it's getting some unique things done to it.

Weird that the colours are different in each seat?... I couldn't live with that! Would be so annoying!

It's because the chassis is different on the s2 compered to the s1 which is what the vx is based on. So there's a metal beam bonded into the chassis that goes across the full length of the dash and only way to get the Inteior to fit was to cut into the beam which I just didn't fancy 😂

I thought s2 was the same chassis as the vx? hence the new elise came out after Vauxhall paid for the chassis development

They obviously ripped Vauxhall off and gave them the old one and kept all the r&d for themselves!!
