just noticed on the LOT site that the north weald days they are running over the winter are going to be, the two small circuits in the morning and the larger sprint circuit in the afternoon.

Personally I would prefer this, to doing the high speed tyre shredder.......

wondered how others felt and whether we could ask for this format instead???

:yeahthat:

:yeahthat:

When I did the full day I pretty much ruined all four tyres although I did spin perhaps a dozen times 'finding' the limit

Need a new pair of rears for the activity day as they are down to the limit. Don't really want to ruin those ones too!

I dont know how the hell you managed that. On one of the 2 person days I did over 150 miles purely on the airfield, mostly sideways and hardly "ruined" (dont quite understand that word, I assume you mean, "used") the tyres.

Anyway, as I have said. We will see on the day how much people want to do the high speed bend. It is a very useful exercise if you use it correctly.

Agree it was a great exercise and helped no end in understanding how to control the car near the limit. But I managed to tear the shoulders of the tyres quite badly and since the day they just seem far less grippy, almost as if they have hardened? Perhaps running the wrong pressure?

I’ve done a few track days in my MR2 and never had similar issues with 888s. To be fair though I’ve never pushed the MR2 as hard as the VX!

Does somebody want my slot...? My car's in bits at the moment, and will not be ready in time. Is there a cacellation procedure for reserves, or do I just sell it?

Di, has a reserve
list for the Activity Day, however I'm afraid that she's off at the
moment as she's not very well... therefor, if you can get someone on
the VX forum to take it, then that's fine by us... just let us know
the name of the person who's replacing you... If Di is well before
you've found someone to fill the space then I'll get her to contact a
reserve and let you know if we fill it this end...........

not 100% sure i can make it myself :( what's up with the car jimmy  surely you don't need to take the car a part to fit a fluffy wing :D

LOT day today - high speed bend for hour and a bit, then single circuit by control tower till lunch. After lunch back out there for an hour and couple of hours on sprint circuit.

They said it should be same format next Sunday, although neither of the two guys there will be attending.

Having done the high speed bend today (and learnt a lot), I'd certainly rather not do it again next week, and instead try and work out how to get round the low speed corners properly!

OK I'm feeling lazy and cant be bothered to sort through all the non event related chat on here (mostly Joe, Jim and the frenchman   ) So would anyone answer simply for me: Where? What time do we need to arrive? When will it finish? Helmets not needed? please confirm? Is there food/refreshments or do we need to bring our own? Anything else I need to know?

Any ideas what varieties in spec cars will be there? Supercharged? TB's? High power turbo? VXR's? Any one in the know wouldnt fancy posting what we should be expecting to be there and who will be champion of the day? chinky chinky
