No; T(emp)-MAP sensor is originally on the LSJ cast manifold near cylinder 1. This one is exchanged for the Courtenay MAP sensor. (No T measurement here on the 2,2's... thumbsdown)

That other MAP sensor (SCIP) is located on top of the supercharger, near the TB, and is not used on the 2,2.

Ah ok makes sense then, so the blanking plate is for the one on the charger and the new one goes in the place of the one on the top of the manifold.

Buy a loom from ZZP in the US for the injectors, makes life far more pleasant when wiring and only £30 delivered, you will spend £40 for the original Bosch ones from Vauxhall.

I actually have a loom from an Alfa 156 which has 4 bosch injector plugs on it (Alfa use Bosch injectors). Took it from one I was breaking so cost me nothing :) If anyone needs a set of Bosch injector plugs then get an Alfa 156 (Petrol) loom, easy to obtain and cheap (loads being broken up on ebay), plenty of spare wiring for all the other jobs too.

Cheers for all your help guys, think I've got it all pretty clear in my head now, hopefully gonna get my clams off this weekend and get the ECU off to Courtenays.

Ok so I made a start this weekend, got both clams off. Measured the front to see what size rad I could get in there (not going for the expensive pro-alloy option). I had hoped to remove the ECU and get it off to Courtenays however I discovered I couldn't remove it due to some wierd bolt which looks like a Torx but has a pin in the middle. Anyone tell me what type of bit I need for this please? Seems I can't even get the connectors off until its removed. Also learn't to avoid leaning on the lower side section when reaching into the engine as I now have a hairline crack in it :( Have decided not to bother with Dual Pass mod. I don't want to go over 250bhp because I don't want to change the rods yet, that combined with fitting a smaller rad in the front made me think it just wasn't worth it until I decide to go for more power with forged rods and pistons at a later date.

Thanks, a quick google found the answer, got the required bits on order :) Anyone have instructions on removing the side sill pods that I need to get off to run the charge coolant hoses?

to remove the black plastic side sills, simply remove the screws, then gently pull the trim upwards a section at a time, hurts your fingers but saves breaking the trim which costs £125

Another stupid question. Theres a small hex bolt which I understand can be removed to check oil level in the charger? How much oil should be in it and what type of oil should it be topped up with?

Charger oil, it should be fine, I checked mine and Dan's and they were both bright golden so can only assume they were fine and had been topped up. Afaik they only need checking every 10k or so according to the US guys and hardly ever need topping up. It's on the base of the snout, look down the snout at the pulley and it's about the size of a fingertip.

3/16th allen key required and oil content is anywhere between 3.8-6oz depending on which post you read on the cobalt forum. Seb when you took the plug out, presumably with the snout pointing upwards did you see oil. I had to stick a bit of wire in to discover oil.

Yeah I found the plug easily, thing is with it stood upright I can't see any oil, although I do see a metal plate which has a thing film of oil around it. I suppose I have to bend a bit of wire around the corner to find the oil but it still doesn't answer how I judge if there is enough in it? I guess you can't really check until its fitted and at the correct angle, but even when it is I wouldn't know if theres enough in it and what to top it up with.

well I believe a bottle of the oil is only 6 fl.ozs so I expect most would just tip the whole bottle in.

what to top it up with.

Clicky

You can probably get the same stuff from BMW (for the Mini Cooper's) and Mercedes dealers for their Kompressor variants.
