Crappy picture. But Titan rack in the foreground and Sona rack behind it.

Presumably the later Sona version as it has bronze bushes in it, instead of the plastic bushes in the Titan. But, once they've worn, it's game over as far as getting it rebuilt is concerned. Plus no quick rack option, if that matters to you.

We do offer a re-furb service and this costs £35.00 labour + Parts on top.

We can only re-furb racks with plastic bushes, as the bronze bushes cannot be removed economically. I would suggest that you check before returning your rack what bushes you have, this can be done by moving the rubber boot back and looking at the colour in the housing which the rack bar runs in.

Can't remember how long my original rack lasted but when it went I went for the quick rack. My comments would be the same as Duncan VXR.

Crikey, so I first need to ascertain which rack I have, then check if it rebuildable when it is off? I may just call Titan and order a new QR, but then does that have the optimised bump steer of the EP version, only £100 more

Can I have a fitting quote please Duncan? I have one of Stuttgart's finest blocking my garage with a collection of sheared bolts and stripped threads :beat:

Rumour has it (on SELOC) that the Titan and EP racks are one and the same. No idea if that is really the case but nice mark up, if that is the case.

I will have to have a good look at mine and see how it looks I have done over 73k and no problem so far although I have noticed the steering wheel is no off centre and has been for some time. may need to get one refurbed then get mine back to the owner of the one I borrow, what do you think Matt :D

The EP steering rack was designed by Nitron but it is built and assembled by Titan.

As I found out when I had to send my EP rack back as it developed some play.

Sounds like a plan. Mine was absolutely shot when I replaced it at 62K miles.

I'm assuming the racks interchangeable? If so think I'll try and pick up a cheapy and get a QR refurb.

My rack was fine (39K and had been redone by Vauxhall at about 30K) but this was very high on my list of upgrades had I kept the car. Anything in the 1.9 to 2.2 range is still very road friendly but better when large inputs are unexpectedly needed.
