Hi sorry to be dum here, but when you guys are talking of a full set of stickers on the VXR just what exactly are you talking about? I don't want to miss out.

these ones but some are of the sprint. So you do not get the hump and the side pods will be red still and so will the top of the car (the bit where the roll bar is) I'm gonna see if they can sticker these bits up though as I believe they were painted black on the sprint and Stu said the pods were prone to chips

Christ Wicky you don't want to stick out in a crowd do you! :o That's going to be like a red rag to a bull for all the wanna be boy racers, I can see you are up for some sport. :9mm: Thanks for the pictures, whilst I will not be requiring a full set of stickers as a matter of interest what is the cost?

Well i drive an orange vx at the moment so i already stand out :D

The stickers cost around £450 and it costs around £300 to get alphabet to put them on. These are the guys who make and apply the stickers for the touring cars.

My VXR is only going to be used for trackdays and the occasional meets so the stickers will be fine going round the track.

As for boy racers my VXR will be producing roughly 320bhp and around 360lb of torque once i have run it in and Louise has got used to the standard power of the VXR (provided she passes her test this month). Ferraris will have trouble staying with me let alone chaved up corsas once it's ready :P

Just need to sort the driveshafts out for it and possibly a different gearbox. The other option is to try and strenthen 2nd and 3rd gears as these take most hammer on track. Don't know if this can be done though.

The only thing that is going to p*ss me off is people will still come up to me and ask if it's a vauxhall or if it's a kit car  :P

My VXR goes in once i've run the engine in. 300bhp and 325lb of torque. Just need to sort the gearbox and a few other bits out. I'm going to speak to Thorney on Wednesday about it all.

  :drink:

two days ago it was 300/325, today 320/360.... Tomorrow?? I understand your enthusiasm, but please, those claims and "just sort a gb" is just being glib.

According to Thorney AMD have got remaps producing this type of performance. The hybrid turbo is good for 320bhp and over 350lbs of Torque. (looks like I’ve hit a 6 by mistake  ). When I spoke to Thorney a few weeks back he told me that it was 300bhp and 325lbs of Torque. He has since posted the new potential figures in the tuning and modifications forum. There is a chance that the gearbox may hold with 300bhp and 325lb of torque but it’s very doubtful. It seems that they have upped the original specs given to me. Whether or not AMD will ever put the 320bhp remap on is anyones guess but if they are then I will take it. The driveshafts can be bought from Stu so that part is covered. It’s only the gearbox thats the problem and there are companies out there who are trying to solve this. I think minime said regal? was thinking of putting a different gearbox in to cope with the extra power. Basically my VXR is going in for the stage 4 AMD conversion (equivelant to stage 5 as I have the turbo already) and it will also be having the driveshafts fitted which they should be able to do at the same time. The first thing that will go on when it arrives is the full milltek system as Louise has to get used to driving the thing before I start to increase the power. It will either go in over winter or for April next year when my insurance is due for renewal.

Wayne said they should be allowed in to put them on otherwise i'll have to get them once i have the car. I might just pick my car up from crownhill instead of Hethel but it all depends on what sort of affair picking the car up from Hethel will be.

Mani is :( :( :( :(

just picked up a message on my answerphone..........

apparently....all the first customer cars will be quarantined for QC inspection. VXL now informs me that the car will not be delivered until early next week or even by Friday next week....does this sound familiar guys????

I just cant understand it.....spoke to STU, got a text back to say car is ready.....the dealer tried to chase up Neil about delivery...was told Monday/Tuesday at latest and then this...

The real bad news is that I had re-booked Armourfend to come and do it on Wednesday...after all I was expecting the car on Friday (took the dealers advice and played it safe and booked on Wednesday).....

well the bad news is that by the time I got the message....it was 7pm....I cant contact armourfend and it will be first thing in the morning. Armourfend warned me that I will have to pay if I cancelled within 24 hours... :( , I can see if from their point of view after all they are sending some one up to Bham to get my car done and that means that a full day away.....

well....I am paying...and there is more...

I was looking forward to take the car to Luxemburg....when I mean looking forward....I was really looking forward to it. Remember I was suppose to have the VXR before le Mans....it didnt arrive...at least Stu helped out at the time with a manaro.

Well Luxemburg is looming and I am going through the same stress as before.....the bottom line is that armourfend need at least 1 weeks notice to book you in, so if ....and I say IF my VXR arrives next week, I may not have enough time to armourfend it and get the car ready for the trip...

the bottom line is that even if by a miracle armourfend fit me in.....(cant see it happening as this is the 3rd time I am cancelling)...the car will not be broken in. And its no fun trying to keep up with other VX when all I can do is rev up to 3000....., and its even less fun driving on your own when everyones gone ahead...

I am sorry guys but I have lost hope....cant even look forward to Luxemburg as I may not have a car (can take existing vx - insurance ran out 2 weeks ago)

:( :( :( :( :(

It must be very frustrating  I had to wait an extra 24hrs for my NA vx when i got it. That seemed like an eternity. It must be worse for you as you get prepared for the car to arrive then it changes at the last minute. :( Does this mean that all the people waiting for their cars will have to wait even longer, or could it be that the other cars later in the build are sent out at the same time as the 1st lot of customer cars as I assume they are still being built and made ready for people. I still haven't had any info or VXR badge come through the post. Has anyone else not received theirs yet?

Mani, I hope the car arrives and you get everything sorted, there are a lot people looking forward to seeing your car over here Imnotworthy As for the run-in, I think 3k rev limit is a bit overkeen, cant see it being a problem using it up to 5k even when running it, besides you will have a nice long drive over to Lux anyway to put a few miles on the clock at sensible speeds ;) Hope it all works out thumbsup John.

Hi Mani I feel sorry for you but try to look on the positive side if they have found some QA problems then rather have a sorted car than one which is suspect or breaks down. Wickey I have received nothing, is all I have is a green slip of paper confirming I have paid the deposit.
