I would think the QA is more likely to be from Vauxhall.... thumbsup I would also guess it's out of Stu/Neil's hands... Hence the last minute change - Auditors, roll in, cause some trouble for a few day then fcuk off back into their pit in the basement! thumbsdown

cheers Guys....feel a bit better this morning. Just rang armourfend at 9am on the dot. The guy had already left at 7.30am to get to Birmingham after 9. I felt a real twit in telling them that there is no car for them to work on....but they were understanding and are only charging me for the travel and milage..... They have provisionally booked me on Thu next week. I have PM Stu and will see what he says....about getting the car armourfended at Hethel (at least I know the car is there!!) Regarding run in...I guess a gentle drive to Luxemburg will help.... QC....well I would have thought that they would have done that before giving my car the green light.....I have a funny suspicion that they spotted something which means all the cars have to be held back until its sorted....the positive side is that QC will spot any problems and get them fixed before the car comes out. will keep you posted....at this rate it will be 4 weeks between Event 48 and Event 60.. mani

I suppose its just one of the nuances of having a low volume, hand built, specialist sports car :D :D When you pull up at the Lux meet (30 mins after everyone else :P ) in the only VXR their, you WILL be "The Daddy"!!! Imnotworthy Imnotworthy :D

latest news....just had stu on phone.....apparently car is ready to go, it had qc check on Friday.....and its going to be booked on carrier system this lunchtime....it seems that the dealer is telling me things which aint matching???? Also been informed that the first 3 customers picked their cars up from Hethel...came down with dealer with plates and drove off... we are now looking at the possibility of getting armourfend to go down to hethel and armourfend it there....(poor chap is hanging around BHAM until he gets a call from me, I get a call from Stu....and STu gets a call from Lotus!!) the saga of the yellow VXR continues... Hi Mani, I,ve been reading the forum alot larely and ther is a post on here somewhere about running cars in and says that driving them hard from the get go is actually good for your engine. some american engineer has a site detailing how its better than nursing it in. It also has the advantage that you get to enjoy your car from the factory gates. Hope you get sorted soon has to be very frustrating.

Anyone got any news on the Harness bar and harness:s, trying to get the A/F and the full set of stickers put on the car at Hethel waiting for a phone call back, still no reg doc. Car number 10 where are you!!! I was the same as Annie, saw the write up on the sprint last Aug and went after the car, this last bit of waiting is a pain though. What if a few of us all apply together to have A/F do the cars at the same time? at the factory!

Mani,

This is the one I mention to you the other night - lets hear no more of this 3000rpm stuff poof :P

Even if you don't like it, I would suggest the staying below 3000rpm is the worst thing to do. Better to gradually use the full rev range, but don't use full power.

Try this

Surely if you do not follow the manufacturers recommended procedure they could interrogate the ecu and void a warrenty claim?

IIRC the manual suggests using no more than 3/4 throttle, vary the engine speed as much as possible and don't let the engine labour (keep revs above 1500ish) all for the first 600 miles. I was doing around 4500-5000rpm in my VXT when running it in. Driven this way, you can easily keep with NAs :P Ryder, the VX does not have a 1,000 mile prelim service like the K series engined Elises, so it's not possible to interrogate the ECU to tell how the engine has been run-in.
