The hardtop is painted black I believe and then it has the sticker put on it after that. I'm getting the hardtop from the online shop from Thorney and then either he or me will put the sticker on. Alphabet are the people to speak to with regards to getting the stickers put on the car. Wayne said it would be possible to get it done at Hethel but as he is on holiday at the moment i'll have to wait till he gets back before he confirms mine are being done at Hethel. HF i got your email and will sort it in a little while. ;)

Engine run in .....well I have been thinking....I have read the article on being aggressive for the first 200 miles ....seems to make sense but I am not 100% convinced... I ran in the my suzy 2.2 by the book....ie 3/4 throttle max....varying engine speed, through the gears etc.... and the result was 160bhp (albeit with sports exhaust and regal stage 1). But I dont think that 160 bhp was completely due to exhaust and remap ...as other cars had similar mods and they were less so....I completely agree....driving like a poof may not be good for run in.....but driving at max 6k revs ....is not neccessary either...some in between is probably best ie 3/4 revs Mani

Running a car in is a bit of a myth IMO, just drive an ex rental car or company car and see how fast they are compared to a private car.

Mani, 3 Things.

1) I want a pic.

2) I want a ride.

3) I completely agree with your statement on running in. I did mine by the book and at the G Force Rolling Road hit 157 and the only mod has been the pre-cat coming out!

I accept it was the first run of the day, but if that was over egged, then you would expect others to be high by the same margin. They were not, Minime and Rubber both got to their expected figures but not 10 - 15bhp more.

VEX.....

you will get a pic
you will get a ride...

and I completely agree...I guess we are both referring to the AMD rolling road date last year sometime........

so, when I am driving to Luxemburg....I'll make sure that I give it just enough to keep up to the NAs :P

On the way back though....its going to be flat out!!

The other thing to bear in mind is that it is not just the engine that needs to be run in, brakes and esp tyres with the AO48 need to be bedded in, this is one of the reasons manufacturers recommend taking it easy for the first feww hundred miles or so.

Have spoken to Bob at A/F, and he can get to Hethel early to mid next week(depending if cars and time he recieves info) to fit on cars, have told him what I want, so if there are any off you out there who want A/F fitted contact him, he says that a 10% discount and less travel costs if there are a few of us to be done in one go! at info@armourfend.com, also post here as He has given me is number to phone him later rtoday or in the morning. Mr Harris is there any problems with A/F going to Lotus to do the work? Have contacted alphabet, he is at Zandor in Holland but will phone me monday to get it sorted. Im having the full set of stickers! :)
