Has anyone else had this problem with VXR????? I have only have a reciept for my deposit, i have had no formal type of confirmation for the car. Also i have asked dealer when it coming ruff date etc... and he has brought back a blank, so i e-mailed stuart at vauxhall and he didnt reply, so after a week tried neil with same e-mail and he hasnt replyed either!!!!!!!!!!! Any help on how i can get some ruff dates and info would be great. I want to pick the car up from lotus etc... but cant get hold of anyone to set this stuff up. cheers, Ben (lastone)

why dont you ask for youre deposit back then see if you can get one of the dealer ones that have allready been delivered.thats if theres any left. just cleaned mine it looks scrummy now iam off out to scare myself. and burn my head.

Aren't further deliveries on hold until the AMM "issue" is resolved?

I think the delivery situation has got pretty confused.

All the VXRs have been sold from what I understand however, not all have been sold to their ultimate end users, some (as with Archie Moss and Slaters) have been sold to dealers who obviously expected to be able to sell them on quickly but haven't been able to. Some dealers (like Lance Owen) had ordered VXRs but because they hadn't yet got buyers for them they've delayed the orders. My one apparently was originally arranged for mid-August but was put back because it was at the time unsold. Shame because if they had took a chance on the original date I'd be driving it now. Then you've got some with Ohlins and some without - and then you've got the "special" VXRs like Annie's and Mani's, and some not so "special" ones (excuse the terminology) like Ratboilers (I think) which are having things like central locking added. I don't envy Lotus trying to organise their schedules.

Oh yes, and then you've got the AMM thing which may, or may not, be holding up delivery.

In an ideal world the dealers with the unsold ones in their showrooms wish they hadn't got them yet (and they'd be £30k better off) and people like us who are waiting for them wish they had them yesterday (and I can't even drive my VXT because I daren't put any more miles on it).

There is however one thing that is certain.

It will be worth the wait

i don't know if the AMM has affected deliveries but i believe they had planned to have all the cars out of Lotus by the end of October. All the cars are built now but they are just waiting to be motorsported by Lotus in the little black shed I wouldn't worry about the contact part from Vauxhall as they will be just going down the list of people who have their cars next on order. If you ask cheeky and others, i believe they didn't recieve much info prior to the "call" from Vauxhall. Then they were told delivery dates etc etc. You have the receipt that you are getting one, and Stu and Neil will be reluctant to give dates etc until they know your car is about to go in to be VXR'd. When mine was on order i was given a date of mid to end July. I would have picked it up yesterday so you can see why Vauxhall are reluctant to give dates etc as the change over from VXT to VXR is out of their control to a certain extent as Lotus are doing all the work. You could do what rasputin has said and buy one from the dealers who have them. It all depends what you specced on your car and if the cars for sale fit your criterea.

Cheers for all the ideas! I am wanting to keep my ordered car, ordered with what i want, ohlins, back box stereo, central locking. Did think about canceling and just buying one thats ready, but none are too the spec i want. Just had enough of being left in dark, it so annoying. Think tomorrow i will go in AGAIN, and see dealer. I wouldnt worry too much about the AMM issue.....I have had the amm and filter replaced....everything ok at mo...... regarding VXR deliveries.....remember it took over four weeks from me getting it registered to actually getting it delivered.... I just hope ...you wont have to wait too long..... Mani

got ? as far as my purchase went, it's been that way all along - I think the equation is something along the lines of ;

2xPersistance + 3xPrayer + 5xLuck = VXR (or in my cases, somebody else's VXR )

This has been the other problem - some people got some choice's & other's got almost none even though we all know that the options list is where the real profit is made (£600 for a radio ). I would have loved to have a proper brochure, proper spec & options list, etc and I would have ended up spending more money - I wanted a Stereo & central locking.

It's a pitty because in this online world, a bit of information from say a customer section on the Vauxhall web site could provide so much AND COST SO LITTLE !!!

Ok my VXR is sitting at Drive Vaux Bristol, all ready (its arived with no back box. no sunstrip and no sterio insert(now fitted with mp3 player and front speakers)!!!) centre brace fitted,satin black hard top ready fer them grapics, it is car No5.... I cant have it till 17/09(dont ask) so if any one wants to go see it for me, I aint, I will want to take it, been with out my VXT 2 months One thing I need to know do I need to get the air filter changed to the paper one cos of the AMM prob, could some one let me know. as far as the back box goes I will get it done when I get the car now!

regarding AMM.....apparently there was a faulty batch of VXR foam filters which were over oiled.....it only affects the first couple of cars....

so as a precaution...get your dealer to order you another VXR foam filter and replace existing one....

I have had another foam filter put in...and my amm is fine at mo...

if your amm does go...you can get the amm and filter replaced under warranty........as the foam filter is a standard part on the vXR unlike the VXTs with modded airboxes...

See it every morning.. Walking past .. and every evening.. Not moved since monday morning or they are parking it in the same place. It looks very VXR..

Right , firstly Neil has left and gone to work at Bentley so don;t send him anymore emails !!Send to me. Second if only the bloody dealers would answer the phone (WAYNE!!!!) you'd know where your cars are. Paul S your car is done and being sent to Crownhill today I would let the dealer know (WAYNE!!!!!) but he does'nt answer the phone. Lotus are doing 6 per week. I'll see if I can update the list that vxr220 has put up but matching your real names to your internet names has caused some confusion! All cars should be complete by first week October. So here's the deal if you email me on stuart.harris@vauxhall.co.uk I will email you back with the date your car goes into Lotus Motorsport for conversion. Its then 7 days from that point + transport to the dealer. Quicker to pick up at factory tho.... So if you're Jim , Jimmy , Steve , Nick , Keith , Simon , Suzanne , Carl , John , Mike Stuart , Peter , Darren , Ben , Jonathan , Andrew , Chris or Mike and you want to know whats happening then let me know.
