I now own No35. A few things planned for it next year but hopefully actions will speak larger than 'specs'. Look forward to meeting other VXR's. I am doing a Xmas run starting froom Wickham (noth of Fareham) on the 28th Dec if anyone is interested?

Maybe we can organise a meet after xmas and get as many VXRs there as possible. It would be good to compare notes etc...

what do you guys think? Somewhere in the middle of the country?

Mani

Bugger :( I'm working on 28th. And I'm off on holiday from 8 January for 4 weeks. Any time after that would suit though.

A meet? I'd like that - let me know when and where. I have to work over Christmas but I can be "travelling on business"

I'm up for a meet not the 28th though how about the 29th I think it's a Sunday? It would be interesting to compare notes that's for sure!

no elitism then! ;)

No, not at all......it wouldnt just be a meet for VXR owners ....it would be a VX220 meet....its just that it would be great to get a number of VXRs there so we can compare notes and things....thats a problem with having such an exclusive car ;)

Its going to be a bit tight in Dec with Xmas and all.....so how about a Saturday...8th Jan 05???

Possibly could meet up in Midlands...

and could either do a cat and fiddle run or
North Wales run

what do you guys think?

Let's do a poll with possible dates. Once we have the preferred date then we can discuss location. The location is probably the least important part as I wouldn't want it too local anyway - It's all about the journey!

Out of interest ....has anyone else had their VXR rolling roaded yet? I went to courtneysport a couple of weeks back .....output was 229BHP . Was dissapointed with a powerdip around 4-5k....which is associated with a "flat spot".....anyone else encountered the same? Mani

Mani that was the perfect excuse I needed to take mine out today and check out if I got any power drop off between 4-5k. Answer is no power drop off that I could detect, going like a train in both 3rd and 4th through that rev range. It's interesting how the engine seems to be smoothing out now it is approaching 2K miles. A rolling road would show up a flat spot, but having had a car on a rolling road before, smoke pouring off the tyres, I was not keen to go again especially seeing the cost of the tyres.

The "flatspot" is hardly noticable under full accelleration, but as the RRoad did show a dip, I am thinking of taking it to a dealer and asking them to check map default values. If they are ok , then it looks like I will definately go for a remap to smooth out the power delivery even further. Not particularly fussed about extra BHP/torque as its fast enough as it is. Mani

Thats sounds bad, RR's don't generate a huge amount of tyre wear, even yokos, there is some wear but nothing more than a spirited drive.

All cars (not just VXR's) have the power dip, its there for emissions purposes, a reamp gets rid of it but as was shown at Courtenay the Milltek gets rid if it too thumbsup

well....just got back from the peak district....what a drive! Car now has 6k on the clock and everything is gelling together nicely.....on the real road ....You cant detect the power dip under full acceleration, took it through the gears upto *10mph and smooth acceleration all the way upto the redline. :D :D :D mani

yep.....229.3 @6134, torque 219.7 @ 4048

standard (inc VXR backbox).....

speaking to Thorney...he said that most VXRs tested were around the same mark....

so quite pleased....as it had done 5.5k ...and on the day was running on 95RON instead of the usual 98RON optimax.

Boxy- have you had yours done.

Anyone with a VXR will be happily surprised with the power output, 220 is a 'conservative' estimate (depends on miles obviously) and adding a full Milltek adds at least another 15-18bhp. thumbsup

Just had mine done and it resulted in 268BHP and 297 lbft torque - boost was still around 0.9 bar at 7400 rpm and the mixure was also spot on. Very happy! thumbsup

Surely that's not the case though, since the VXRs "have" the Milltek? Or do they only come with the back-box and not the full system?
