But actually my fiancée is delighted I've gone for the VXR. A survey was done recently of brands of car driven by people who screw around. Porsche (of course) came first (!), and Vauxhall was bottom of the list.

As mentioned in >this thread<, which road tyres are you planning on getting? I can't find anything in more than a V rating in that size for the fronts. Arguably, you're not going to be going fast enough in a VXR on a public road to hit the point at which your tyre explodesand an extra set of wheels with road tyres

Wicky, the exhaust may have different characteristics on the VXR as apposed to the NA/turbo, but on both of these it is the other way around. At tick over you get a nice rumble and with a few revs it growls, but under load it quietens up. That is why I got it, 'cos on the motorways at 80 you can't hear it.haven't received my badge yet

The exhaust is the one which is made by milltek. You don't hear it too much at low revs but when it is under load it gives out a nice noteIf you are coming to the national meet you will hear it there and then you can decide if it is for you.

I think that's what you want, it would be too draining to have constant zorts noise in your ears.Wicky, the exhaust may have different characteristics on the VXR as apposed to the NA/turbo, but on both of these it is the other way around.
