Thinking about trading the VX for a Noble M12 GTO, possibly a GTO-R. Anyone owed one? What are they like to live with? Economy? Servicing? Will probably end up being a daily driver like the VX as my 205 is permanently in the garage atm. Is that plausable with a Noble? Cheer

I will be interested in this thread as I have always fancied a noble m12 as my vx replacement, eventually that is.

Great performance, and great looks from the outside - but have you tried sitting in one? thumbsdown I wavered briefly at the start of this year - but soon decided that a Stage 1 remap for my VX was the better option! B)

I've had two and can recommend them. As with all small run cars, get it inspected, by as late a car as money allows, and budget around 2k per year to service it/fix things. There are known problems, best thing to do is to wander over to the Noble pistonheads.com forum and read the "what are they like" threads that abound on there. J

What's it like sitting in one?? I've always wanted a Noble, I looked into it before the VX but decided the running costs were just too much for me. I reckon the VX is 75% as fun but 40% of the running costs. (And they say 85% of statistics are made up, what utter rubbish :D)

Here is an example of comparative servicing costs. Over 4 years, servicing costs alone come to:
VX: £901
Noble: £2226

and that's assuming you stick to 6000 miles per year in the Noble (you can do 10k in the VX). Add to that tyres, fuel consumption, brake pads, etc etc... I'd still love to have one though :P , maybe when I'm rich.

I looked at these but the servicing put me off quite a bit then I spoke to someone who worked on them who said they are a bit of a pain to work on especially all the screws on the under tray. ... then it rained so I went for 4WD instead!

M12 3R would be a worthy successor to the vxt. As mentioned can be expensive to maintain. Always thought they sat in the same bracket as tvr on many fronts.

Sorry - I should have explained a bit... It just seemed very basic to me. Now I know that's rich coming from a VX owner - we do a pretty good job of defining "basic" - but at least the car "fits". The Noble just felt big and wallowy - I couldn't get comfortable at all. Probably a fine car - but it was enough to put me off.

Had a passenger ride in one of these at Castle Combe recently. Felt completely planted on track and the bark from the V6 was fantastic :tt:

A friend of mine had a GTO 3R, number plate was M (something) GTO can't remember it exactly! It was stunning, it was black with black aftermarket rear lights, I think it only had 8,000 miles on the clock. He boughtit from Mole Valley and later sold it back to them as he wasn't using it. It just sat in his garage and got polished! Don't know what it was like to run or service as he never used it to be honest. Might be worth looking out for it though as it was completely immaculate, completely as new. Mole Valley couldn't buy it back quick enough! It would be top money though.
