Thanks

Right, as the last of the funds still hasn't quite cleared into my account, I can't make the payment today, however I'm almost all setup for it to be done tomorrow. Just need to grab my passport and all should be fine!

Ask Joe, I am pretty sure he left a Mr Whippy on the passenger seat of his own SC car when I took him round Silverstone in it (and on the grass).

Not credit!! Debit account, doing it by wire. It's the safest way.

And I will be paying by VISA.

You said previously you were paying by Credit Card, and surely that is the safest method as if nothing arrives your Credit Card insurance will cover it. Paying by debit card or wire-transfer offers you (and by proxy the rest of us) nothing if they don't deliver.

Also some credit cards will let you whack money onto them if you want to make a large purchase. Have done this in the past.

Will inquire. It is a VISA card? So I'll have to ask my bank why they suggested the wire was the safest method of transfer.

Presumably because you don't have to give out any card details and risk them being stolen?

If its a VISA credit card all purchases have to be by law protected with insurance. If its a debit card you get no such insurance. If you can't do it by Credit Card I would suggest some sort of escrow service, although you'll have to pay a charge for that.

With a direct wire transfer, as far as I am aware, once the money is in the recipients bank account it is theirs and you have absolutely no recourse if the goods don't arrive.
