I feel gutted to be honest , all because of a water pump bearing failure. It was such a great engine too, didn't burn any oil, smoooth, powerfull, reliable (until the pump failure!), and reved like a little angel. It's a shame as I had hoped to sell it on as a going concern to anyone who wanted a reliable 300 BHP unit. However, now that I've discovered the valves are pooped, I will have to strip it apart and sell the parts on separately.
Let me know if anyone wants a block, head (with bent inlet valves), crank, balancer shaft delete parts, rods, oil cooler, cams, tappet set, etc etc.

Yea, the cams are solid lifter profile with 10.5 mm of lift on the inlet and 10mm on the exhaust (I think (am still waiting for the full precise spec from Piper) - I think thats the same amount of lift that Klassen uses on his 650 BHP monster.
I have swapped quite a few parts over to the new block this morning with more updated pics and writeup HERE (you may need to press CTRL-F5 to see the refreshed images).

With the crank breather pipe. might be easier to cut the pipe down to about half then use some flexible hose routed away from the manifold in the middle and protected with some heat sleaving
Yea, I may well do this, buy a couple of 45 degree bends (or a single 90 degree one and chop it in half to save cash as I am feeling rather poor ATM ). The pipe only has to deal will very minor pressure differences, so it's not like its gotta be well designed. I think it's 19mm ID and I need to buy a load of this bore for the additional job of routing my Bailey dump valve back into the 4 inch inlet tract. I will deffo have to wrap it or make a little heat shield for it, as this pipe gets roasted even with a 200 BHP OEM setup.
